DU SAYS KERRY LOST, BUSH WON |
|
http://www.democraticunderground.com/articles/04/12/14_miracle.htmlArticle by Ron Bilancia "A key reason John Kerry lost was that he waited until about the last month to focus. He won the debates, but it was too little too late. Had his message and strategy been clearer and consistent from the start he may well have been on his way to the White House today."

that we inform the rest of DU, which creep around in forums like "Campaign 2006 & 2008", unaware of all the facts and also the effort of John Kerry to check the voting software of Ohio.

5. Please provide an article where DU issues a statement that Kerry "lost" |
|
An article written by somebody to that effect and posted here does not count.
If this "Kerry lost" propaganda has become DU policy, I was not aware and would certainly like to be informed.

4. This is devastating because???? |

It's pathetic to watch how some can't move on from their election strategy of diverting attention away from their failed leader by quoting negative opinions about his opponent.
You must be so proud.

7. I just found it ironic |
|
that, after so much time and energy was spent here in an attempt to overturn the election that DU itself would post this article front and center. Seems kinda contradictory to me. How about you, how do you feel about this article?

SOLID CAP HEADLINES are against DU rules. Stating DU said something that it clearly did not is a lie.

9. Ron Bilancia sounds like he is on hockey withdrawal |
|
LOL! Poor guy! It looks like the season will be cancelled.
From his article (not DU's article): "This means making new inroads into radio, TV, online, and published media, working to reform our electoral process, coordinating the many Democratic-leaning organizations in united purposes and principles, building upon real grassroots organizing and fundraising, and, again, re-framing and re-focusing the message so that we can compete everywhere in this country."
These are well considered thoughts but Ron Bilancia is not the only one who realizes it and Democrats have already addressed some of them with Air America, people like Carville and Begala on CNN to balance out Novak & Co., Dean showing us the power of grass roots organizing and financing, etc. True there is a long way to go but we have in fact started the process. We must make sure it continues and is accelerated.
The one thing I agree with completely is that we must stop recycling losing campaigns. Bob Shrum never won anything as far as I know yet they keep dragging him out as though he is some kind of mystical guru. I don't understand that kind of thinking.

13. Loss is still a loss until its overturned |
|
This article ignores the events in Ohio in favor of focusing on how the Democratic Party can improve. The premise of the article, we must admit, would be undercut if it were to declare Kerry the winner. And I'm not sure what's exactly surprising or significant about DU publishing this article--afterall there is no concrete evidence that Kerry did win. (Sure we all believe he won, but it's not something you hinge your credibility on without the tallies to back it up).
I wouldn't make much of this...I especially wouldn't suggest that it depicts DU's opinions about the results of the Ohio debacle.
