3. Nice!
What happened at the Donetta hearing? Anything? Some of the precincts in Ohio had ridiculously low turnout. Anything like that in Colorado?

8. Trudyco:
I attended that meeting, along with about seven others who believe the election was vulnerable to hacking and manipulation. Because we were there a number of questions were raised that I believe would not have been raised.

They had electronic voting machines there - WITH paper trails (not paper ballots) - for demonstration and discussion. After the meeting I was actually able to speak with Donetta Davidson personally and told her that at that point in time I was more concerned about the 2004 election, and were there any recounts going on anywhere, and how could I get some reassurances about 2004?

I am doing some followups on that conversation, and asking when the minutes of this meeting will be posted to the web site. I'm hoping to have more information soon. If anything develops that is worth reporting I'll be sure to post it.

4. I always thought Colorado was a cool state.
"TAKE THE PROFIT OUT OF WAR & THERE WON'T BE ANY MORE"

Thanks, Colorado! :hi:

5. Thanks for sharing this is very moving
There is a very powerful speech on the site also, you can listen to it or read it.

We Are Americans By Joice Fairchild

I am an American mother, who worried about her son constantly.
While he was in Iraq, I met the parents of a wounded soldier.
A father struggling to maintain his composure
Explained that his son’s injuries were beyond medical care,
His spirit was gone along with his legs.

Plagued with my own anxiety, I wanted to turn away and cry,
But I didn’t because I am an American
We don’t run away when honesty becomes painful

Honesty and integrity are the attributes that we stand for.
Truth and justice have always been the American way.

We are Americans
No one had to tell us that the presidential election was a fraud.
We knew the exit polls weren’t suddenly wrong in all key states.
We could feel it right down to the pits of our stomachs,

6. Hey jdog, - can't believe I'm admitting this, but...

my picture is on that link! I'm the one with the blue sweater/black coat and a "tiara of flame", holding two signs:

Do-Over
in
OHIO
_____
RE-VOTE!

and

Simple Fix:
VOTE With
PAPER and PEN

I'm 39 years old and that is the first time I ever rallied/protested - it was totally empowering!

7. Love it!
I was there too. I protested years ago at Rocky Flats - but this is the first time I've had to do it since I've really been a "grown up." I gotta say, it felt kinda strange, but like you say, also empowering.

It pisses me off so much to have my voice in this whole thing so marginalized. My life has been going along pretty uneventful, following the traditional values of working hard, raising my kids, trying to prepare for retirement, etc. I should have been more aware all along, and I'm ashamed of myself for my previous ignorance. I allowed myself to become out of touch.

Well, not anymore! We have got to keep up this momentum - we just have to. The world cannot tolerate the most powerful county in the world handing itself over without a fight! I'm up for it - - I just don't know where to go next!

18. It's true - I guess I don't fit the "profile" of a Dem protester

The hubby and I seem more like yuppies than Liberals - our annual income is too high, we live in suburbia (in Broomfield), we're not vegetarians (just kidding). I, too, had just been going along with my own life, somewhat unaware. I had a moment of clarity in Nov of 2000 when the Presidency was stolen from my dear President Gore - but I managed to get back into my own little life (stick my head back in the sand).

As you say -- not any more though. I am ashamed of how little I knew before I started lurking on DU and dKos about two months before the Selection.

I agree with your last statement wholeheartedly - I wish I knew what to do next. I understand the concept that WE are the media, etc. - but wouldn't it be great to have REAL leadership here! "Show up here at 12 noon, call this number today, write to this address".

We're going to have to do that ourselves.
