23. Hey Jamboi, I looked at the petition on the site
http://www.npowebsite.net/ctv/docs/ContestTheVotePetition.pdf

There is an address to send the completed forms. However, they needed petitions back by 14 Dec. Given the late date, it would probably be best to send them directly to Senator Boxer.

21. IDEA: A flyer text I'll attach to the petition
I took this flyer out for a "trial run" in my commnuty tonight; it seemed to go over well--I have it stapled to a copy of Jesse Jackson's speech; I'm going to now add hardcopy of the petition and circulate this widely in Black-Blue Chicago. Of course, I'll be emailing it around too. Feel free to borrow and/or adapt to suit needs.

*******

As some of you know, I have been actively involved in the campaign to contest the results of the 2004 presidential election based on widespread evidence of voting fraud, “irregularities,” voter suppression and the disenfranchisement of perhaps millions of voters—primarily in minority communities. I have invested all of my “spare” time and many resources into this campaign—in fact, it is all I have done since November 2.

Although the matter has now reached the stage of litigation and government-sponsored investigations, it has received little attention from the mainstream media. Republican-controlled elections boards and officials have done everything in their power to sabotage the efforts of prominent Black democrats (like Jesse Jackson and John Conyers) to expose the fraudulent behaviors that led to the election results.

I have included here the text of Jesse Jackson Sr.’s speech, presented at a forum sponsored by the House Judiciary Committee in Washington DC on December 8. I urge you to follow-up on this and to view the video transcript of the entire forum that was broadcast on C-SPAN, but completely ignored by the mainstream press. Links to transcripts and to video coverage can be accessed by clicking on the “official investigations” link at the site listed here (which offers a very comprehensive and up-to-date overview of the situation).

Did your Vote Count? Election 2004
http://shadowbox.i8.com/

And another excellent, up-to-date overview site is:
http://nov2truth.org/

Mr. Conyers needs our support in these matters, and has been actively seeking input by email and/or regular mail. A contact form is available at this address:
http://www.house.gov/judiciary_democrats/contact.html

a complete overview of the Judiciary Committee’s efforts is available here:
http://www.house.gov/judiciary_democrats/

There is a highly energized and organized community of “internet activists” who have made it very easy for you to get involved, just by taking five or ten minutes of your time to respond to “action alerts”—by sending emails to media and government as need arises in rapidly developing litigational, legislative and citizen-based efforts. I encourage you to check in to this site from time to time to see what you can do to help.

http://www.stolenelection2004.com/alerts.html

The People’s Email Network (PEN) has similarly set up an easy system for emailing.

You can reach a lot of media resources quickly and easily with this “Media Blaster”—and it’s fun, too!

If nothing else, please sign the Contest the Vote petition

*AHEM*

"According to the Electoral Count Act of 1887, one senator and one House Representative are required to contest an election prior to inauguration. We have the representatives. We still need a senator. Let Senator Boxer know that we want her to be that senator by signing our petition. The signed petitions will be delivered to her in person by a coalition of representatives from a variety of concerned organizations and individuals."

29. After signing a petition from here last week and getting burned
I am reluctant to sign here again. I am going to print off the petition and sign it that way and I suggest you all do the same. There is no way these petitions signed online are valid after they are maliciously maligned by (Freepers?) whomever is so childish and immature to do such things. Having scanned the few signatures I can see, this petition is in trouble already. Be aware of that if you opt to sign online.

40. The problem isn't in who is endorses them -
the problem is that people who wish to thwart the effort go in and sign stupid names or repeat the names of the signatures already there, thus nullifying the whole thing.

Edited on Wed Dec-15-04 03:47 AM by catcatcat
...i noticed at the bottom it said that the date for it to be returned by was Dec. 14 (yesterday (...tonight at the time i was looking at it)). while i have already completed the on-line petition, if the deadline is incorrect and there is more time, please let me know...i agree with you that a pen and paper version would likely have more impact, plus i think that i could get more sigs that way (...not everyone interested is on-line).

66. So I signed this, forwarded it, and told friends I would have a hard copy
And I got publically spanked (and not in a good way) by a friend on one of the lists I sent it to, saying that it was ineffectual left-wingers like me, with our "masturbatory" exercises that make us feel good but do nothing, who are the reason Bush won. I'm actually in tears right now. I feel like I'm in a really bad dream where everyone I thought I knew turns out to be in on the "Evil Plot."

Anybody else getting slammed for trying to get this news out there? I'd just like to know I'm not alone, stupid, or crazy.

67. Der Blaue Engel, that is the same BULL S**T they pinned on Michael Moore
We are in a fight to preserve our Liberty. Most of our country is too damn lazy and programmed to even realize it. It has always been up to a few dedicated patriots to preserve freedom and rally the troops.

If it weren't for Michael Moore, how many people would have woken up to the pure evil that encompasses the BFEE? He is not a nutjob, and neither are you. Thank God there are people like you that are willing to stand up to ridicule for the cause of freedom

Do not lose faith, feel crazy, silly or otherwise ineffectual. If every one of us can reach out to just one American and help them become aware and educated, we have doubled our forces. Then we reach just one one person and so on and so on....

We each have a vital role in this fight. For many of us, it is spreading truth and enlightenment. We can't all reach 50+ million viewers, but we each have people around us that might be willing to listen. If they refuse to hear, at least we know that we were brave enough to take a stand to preserve this Democracy. It is up to us.

Keep the Faith

No Retreat No Surrender

72. If Kerry wont do it himself(assuming he can) why would anyone else do it?
I thought of this on another thread:

Im not sure of the constitutional requirements.

Can a candidate be the one to challenge the electors himself?

If he can, I would expect no other Senator would sign on unless Kerry signs on. Imagine the coverage: "Kerry wont even contest it, so why is this other Senator sticking her/hr neck out?"

Unless Kerry himself signs on, the electoral votes will be accepted as normal.

73. DONE - Is anyone planning proactively for effective & trustworthy
protection for Sen. Boxer until Jan. Congressional session. If she's seriously considering doing this, she will need such protection to not get Wellstoned.

76. Hard copy petition more effective
ActionSpeaks Portland has written a petition urging Senator Wyden (D-OR)to voice his support of any challenge of the 2004 election brought by members of the House of Representatives. This petition can be modified and sent to senators in other states. Download documents from: http://www.actionspeaksportland.org

Please make copies of this petition and gather as many signatures as possible! It must arrive at the senators' offices by the beginning of the 2005 session - if you mail the completed petition to the senator's Washington DC office, we suggest doing so by December 28th. Or you can FAX the completed petition by December 30th.

ALSO: write letters, emails, make calls to Wyden, Boxer, and to other senators who may be willing to stand up! They need to hear from us en masse.

Text of petition:

Senator Ron Wyden December 14, 2004
516 Hart Senate
Office Building
Washington DC 20510
(202) 224-5244

Dear Senator Wyden:

Massive evidence has emerged concerning election irregularities and fraud in the 2004 Presidential Election. The GAO has received over 57,000 complaints concerning election irregularities. Hundreds of stories on malfunctions of electronic voting machines and central tabulation machines are appearing in regional news media. Numerous papers and sworn testimonies written by experts are stating that the chances of the exit polling to be so wrong are almost a statistical impossibility.

We recently learned that Kenneth Blackwell, the Secretary of State for Ohio, who is clearly partisan as the Co-Chair for the Bush/Cheney campaign, has used his official powers to illegally hinder the recount process in Ohio in numerous ways. He has also refused to cooperate with and refuses to recognize the jurisdiction of the House of Representatives Judiciary Committee.

It is because of these facts along with so many more that we are proactively seeking support from you.

We, the undersigned citizens of Oregon, agree that a repeat of the betrayal of the 2000 election where no Senator stood up to support the members of the House of Representatives in challenging the election outcome is unacceptable. We urge you to openly voice your support for any challenge of the 2004 election brought by members of the House of Representatives.

Respectfully,

78. I saw this earlier
And was skeptical because I did not know these folks and they did not identify themselves
But I trust you Will so I will sign it too.
