We need more of this and less BBV meltdown. Good stuff.

more:

The bait-and-switch? Putting in spare parts to fix the machine count and then putting up a list of vote tallies that have to be reported to match? Is this for real?

Nominating for front page.

Again, kick.

On Friday, December 10 2004, Michael from TriAd called in the AM to inform us that he would be in our office in the PM on the same day. I asked him why he was visiting us.

enforcement to impound the paper ballots and machines.

Can this information be used to go to court to waive the 3% rule and demand a statewide hand recount of 100% of the ballots?

46. But the fix is already in:
"But Brett Rapp, the president of Triad, said that although it would be unusual for an employee to ask about a specific precinct, preparing the machines for a recount was standard procedure and was done in all 41 counties where Triad handles vote counts."

¿Preparing for recount?

Also, seems the selection of 3% recount precincts should have been random (and, one would assume, secret).

"He then asked which precinct would be counted for the 3% recount test, and the one which had been selected as it had the right number of votes, was relayed to him. He then went back and did something else to the tabulator computer."

So how come BoE officials knew which had been chosen?

18. Thanks. I just e-mailed it to the editor of our local paper,
who amazingly sent me a personal reply today pledging to do more to look into voting fraud allegations. This is a GOP-owned paper that actually went to bat to get Democratic write-in candidate Donna Frye's disputed ballots counted in San Diego's mayoral race today. Their efforts revealed that Donna won by a large margin--if she can just get a court to allow those disputed ballots to officially be included. (Note: the publisher's benevolent action came just a day or so after a protest on "stolen election" media blackouts on the newspaper's doorstep.)

Fine articles like yours are turning the tide of public opinion, William. With so many damning details emerging, it's becoming hard for even the most die-hard Republican supporters to ignore the truth.

Keep on digging!

93. They ran a front page lead story today saying Frye won
if the unbubbled votes are counted in the mayor's race. They actually got these ballots counted, which astounded me.

On the presidential voting issues, however, their articles have been weak and buried in back pages so far. They've mainly focused on "irregularities" not fraud. But I have some hope that may change.

We'll see.

I'm far from a fan of the UT myself; in fact I'm a former columnist who filed a class action lawsuit against the publisher for copyright infringement.

19. That's very fascinating. But I was wondering something - they decided
to hand count a different precinct and got nothing different. Does that mean the original count was legit? Or do you think that maybe they switched votes in other counties and this particular county didn't have anything "wrong" with it to begin with? I'm just confused.

27. I was thinking the same thing. The perfect match is almost impossible
with punch card technology. The suspicious thing to me is that the TRIAD cover story mentions that they needed to adjust the machines to make sure they only counted the Presidential race.

WHY? BECAUSE THE BASTARDS SWITCHED THE PAPER BALLOTS OVER THE LAST SEVERAL WEEKS TO MAKE SURE THE HAND COUNT MATCHED THE REPORTED COUNT ON NOVEMBER 3, AND THE NEW MACHINE COUNT. THIS IS EASY TO DO IF YOU DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT ALL THE OTHER RACES ON THE BALLOT!!!

99. Sigh. One more time:
Ohio law orders the elections boards to not allow tabulating or counting of votes other than for the race/measure being recounted.

If the machines are set up to count all the votes for all the races, it is *illegal* (contrary to OH statute) to use them.

Whether or not keeping the machines from counting all the other state/local races requires a technician to "prepare" the machine or not, I don't know. They claim it does; and nobody's reported otherwise.

As I mentioned in my response to a request that I look at the diary; I think the comments from the CEO are interesting but I will be much more interested in what he has to say under oath -- something likely to be happening real soon now ;-)

31. Yes, his comments were interesting, BUT
it makes absolutely no sense that to do the recount it is necessary to make sure the machines only count Presidential votes. Please see my response above (#27 I think). I believe that the fascists likely replaced the paper ballots with others that would match the hacked vote totals.

If that is the case, the smoking gun will be the OTHER RACES ON THE CARD. They won't match the reported totals because the fascists didn't have time to re-create votes for every race such that they too would match up to the Nov. 3 totals!!!

THE PAPER BALLOTS NEED TO BE IMPOUNDED IMMEDIATELY
sorry about the caps, but this is crucial. The following will be true if the ballots were replaced with fakes:

1. The presidential hand count will show no problems.

2. Other vote totals in other races on the ballots will be off.

3. MOST IMPORTANTLY, THERE WILL ONLY BE A LIMITED SET OF FINGERPRINTS ON THE BALLOTS. THOSE OF TRIAD, OTHER CO-CONSPIRATORS, ELECTION OFFICIALS WHO RUN THEM THROUGH THE MACHINES. BUT THE INDIVIDUAL VOTER'S FINGERPRINTS WILL NOT BE ON THE BALLOTS.

54. REASON TO ONLY REPORT ON PRESIDENT:THE PAPER BALLOTS ARE FAKES
What is happening:

- The paper ballots have been replaced for the recount.

- They only had time at Triad to create fake Presidential results. This is why the rule came down from Blackwell to ONLY report on Presidential race.

- This is why all recounts so far are coming up exactly and amzingly perfect.

55. TRIAD TECHS MAY NOT BE IN ON IT
These are grunts and have been sent out to the field to tweak the machines to report only on the Presidential race during a recount.

The whole "dead battery" event issue may be a dead end.

What appears to have happened is that Triad/Blackwell/BushCo got to the actual ballots and planted fakes.

These fakes are flawed in two ways:

- They are only correct for the Presidential race.
- They are TOO correct for the Presidential race.

...where are these fake ballots now, who forged them and when did they do it ?

Also, since the lady who submitted the avadavit which blew this case wide open is also the Hocking County deputy director of elections (and a democrat) we need to ask how all the real ballots were replaced by fake ballots right under her nose.

33. Will: what is your expectation for official response to Conyers letter?
This letter from Conyers was sent to Ohio FBI and to the Hocking County prosecutor.

Of course, if the FBI wants to drag its feet, it will. If the prosecutor wants to give the appearance of considering action, he could. On the other hand, if they want to, they could swoop in tomorrow and start impounding machines and handcuffing people. (Blackwell should have been handcuffed two days ago for locking down public records...prima facie evidence of fraud in Ohio).

Do you sense that action will be taken in response to the letter? Or do you think Conyers will get a response that reads: "Thank you for your interest in this matter. We are have been looking into allegations of voting irregularities and will take appropriate action when and if our findings indicate that action should be taken."

Getting to this point is important...but will something be done? Is there movement behind the scenes? Are people distancing themselves from Blackwell? Is Blackwell consulting his attorney? What kind of person is the Hocking County prosecutor? Where are the Ohio state and federal legislators in this process? What other courses of action does Conyers have? Will this help convince his republican colleagues on the Judiciary Committee to immediately convene a real hearing?

I am grateful for the late night headlines!

47. Will, for weeks now, I've stopped emailing family & friends about this...
...not that the issue has gone away for me, but I needed to take a step back (not to mention being busy with the holidays and kids), but more importantly, I've known in my gut that things are in the works and that I just needed to wait a bit until the time was right...

Well my friend, you just gave the signal...the time is right...I'm going to be forwarding this to all that I know and get the talk of the topic at hand going...there is much more to come, I feel it in my heart....

Namaste my dear Will...keep the truth coming out...

68. Everyone here seems to be smarter than I am.
Does someone have information about Triad procedures and what it takes to prepare a machine for a recount ?

What if the Triad CEO was telling the truth when he said that each machine had to be reset for the recount effort ? He said it's standard procedure. I haven't seen anything indicating that he was lying.

I realize that our first instinct is to take the side of the argument that is more favorable to our desired outcome, but to believe he is lying because that would advance our cause, does not mean he's lying.

Please help me understand how we can be calling this fraud without having all the facts. Seriously.

72. "preparing machine for recount"?...."Standard Procedure"?
If it's so "standard", why was the election commissioner unaware of it? What of the statutes that require bipartisan representatives to be present for any such procedures involved in a recount? Something stinks.

86. Standard Procedure
As far as preparing the machines for a recount being standard procedure. I could see an issue during a recount when your sorting overvotes and undervotes in more than one race at the same time. More spoiled ballots in other races would be spit out causing more sorting. The thing is those ballots have already been sorted. Correct me if I'm wrong.

75. My two questions would be
1. Did a Triad Rep make a phone call and speak with either Director within days before the recount? And if they did what was the discussion about.

2. Did a Triad Rep make a visit to that Election Office in person on any day just prior to the recount? If so, why, and what specifically happened during that visit.

Edited on Wed Dec-15-04 12:11 PM by woodsprite
it was because I was syncing with the server or planning on coming in thru modem later. Rebooting would kill the network connection, especially if that network/modem connection was set up by "hand" instead of using an automated script. Reboot *MAY* wipe the last number connected to, but it would definitely drop the connection and not reconnect automatically. As we all know, some installs need a reboot to "take effect" :9

Also "Ghosting" hard drives (or subdirectories or single files) is an EASY matter and fast. You need a boot disk (or a slave drive) and/or a server to connect to. You can set up a central server to "accept" a certain number of connections. When that connection limit is met, the download starts automatically. When done, just reboot and you wouldn't be able to tell anything was copied, but you'd have a whole new image on the hard drive.

I used to run about 100 systems and we'd use Ghost to sync everything, then we'd only have to change the IP numbers and machine name to make them "unique". On reboot, I think you can have that info in a protected batch file that will automatically run and set that info.

UPDATE:

Just got this email:

The People's Email Network had 12,000 submissions to the Kerry
campaign, the DNC, and the GAO on the qustion of election
fraud and as to whether he should join the recount effort.

Now Kerry is starting to take the initiative. Did our 12,000 voices
speaking together have an impact? The fact is that he is acting.

Now we ask if Congress should contest the Ohio electors.
Representative Conyers made an appeal for a million emails to
be sent. We had 2,000 submissons on this question yesteday
alone. Here is a new one click page that looks up your senators
and house representative and sends your personal message to
them and the minority House Judiciary Committee, all at the same
time.

Please post this link everywhere you can, and also contact us if
you would like to do a link exchange.

Simply email back to get off list.

There's a mighty huge crack in the dam...any day now...and we're not doing too well in Iraq the past few days either so Bush is going to have his agenda pretty full...we all know how he handles stressful situations.

Things, either way don't look too promising for this country? OR get that idiot out of the White House and get Kerry in there ASAP!

104. Olbermann's new blog on this is good
Keith O. talks about it, puts it in context, and reiterates his belief that the mainstream media weren't "locked down" but merely apathetic before. Now that there is are sworn affadavits, credible witness testimony, and major public figure involvement (Jesse Jackson, for example), things are starting to move. Keith O's blog:
http://msnbc.msn.com/id/6210240

Will's wonderful report plus affadavits plus NYT story text truly does have everything. For those who want to access the NYT directly, the story (Dec 15) is here:
http://www.nytimes.com/2004/12/15/politics/15ohio.html

Thank you yet again, Will. For those who have not read through his composite TruthOut piece linked to in the initial post in this web, I strongly suggest you read ALL of it. All of the pieces help to understand the whole story, which is continuing to evolve. Once again, here's Will's TruthOut piece:

Nominated this thread for the DU home page. You're the best, Will.
