New Mexico Recount is OFF!!!!!! Don't know if it was posted yet,
but the calls are being made to cancel the training meeting for volunteer observers.

Apparently, no one came up with the money in the 15 hours our illustrious governor Richardson demanded for it to be held!

I am so PISSED, you cannot believe! If this is the attitude of "our Democratic leaders"--they can stuff it!

28. Randi was very curt to her. The woman was from Help America Recount
And obviously there to assist the Glibs. If memory serves me correctly Randi had a link to them when requesting money for a recount. Randi dismissed her as if she was working for a group acting on their own. Then Randi threw in a comment how she likes Richardson. The weird part came when Randi said she supported Ohio because two presidential candidates were behind the recount there.... Hello????? The same two are behind the recount in New Mexico. I was so surprised that Randi didn't connect that, and realize that it was the Glibs that wanted the recount in New Mexico. This was the first time I heard something from Randi that actually shocked me. Her lack of knowledge? Covering up for Richardson? Really odd.

5. Richardson is DLC
and a real DINO. See how the end of the sales tax on food has been accomplished? What? You're still paying it? He campaigned on getting rid of it. He did lower taxes on the rich, though.

He's been a total disappointment. I think he's thrilled to have Bush cheated back into office because his taxes will be lower.

I can't believe some DLC type Democrats think he's presidential material. If we could get Gary Johnson back, I'd vote pubbie in a nanosecond.

6.  Sad to say, Nader had it right ...although
if Gore had showed some backbone maybe we wouldn't be in this mess. HAVAS was a Trojan Horse. I'm still trying to figure out why Chuck and Hillary were the only two senators who sniffed at the FIX. If nothing shifts before Jamuary you're going to see a HUGE shift to the Greens...probably long overdue. If we're going to have "pretend" elections we might as well "pretend" we're doing something REAL.

And I, like you, will not participate in any more after this one. If the Democrats won't stand up...I'm with you...I'm a GREEN from here on out.

14. Sure hope Dean gets the DNC position.
His failed candidacy did a lot to give the democrats some temporary balls, but they need a permanent back bone transplant. If that happens, maybe we won't all have to defect from the party...

If Dean doesn't get in, and Democrats keep shelving the fraud issue, we might actually start loosing elections even without vote rigging. I wonder how much Kerry understands this, at least in his subconscious? Taking Dean out of the running for '08 would sure help him out, why doesn't he just make Dean his candidate for DNC and stop messing around?

18. Its stupid to recount Diebold TouchScreens
why should we pay a ransom for NOTHING?

Think about it. They needed to go through the court system, not recount. Now if they ask for attorney support, then that would be getting somewhere.

20. So this is how they're going to do it -- price recounts so that nobody can
afford them?

USA - home of the best democracy money can buy?

And for a Democrat to pull this is un-fricking-believable.

Presidential Recount Request Headed To Court

By Deborah Baker
The Associated Press
SANTA FE — A judge on Wednesday upheld the state canvassing board's decision to require more than $1 million up front before a recount of presidential votes in New Mexico could begin.
State District Judge Carol Vigil made the ruling after a hearing.
A lawyer for the Green and Libertarian presidential nominees who requested the recount said they would take their fight to the state Supreme Court unless some kind of compromise could be worked out with the board.
"I think the judge's decision does not comply with the law," Lowell Finley said.
He had argued that the board went beyond the law Tuesday when it voted to require the payment of $1.4 million by 10 a.m. Thursday.
Finley said the Greens and Libertarians are "fully prepared" to pay for the recount, but that the law requires a deposit of no more than the $114,400 they already have deposited.
Vigil said the $114,400 "has got your foot in the door," but that the board was within its rights to require more up front.
Finley said he would discuss with board lawyers the possibility of narrowing the recount request to review only a portion of the state's voting machines used in the Nov. 2 general election.
