Kerry doesn't think he won the election
Edited on Wed Dec-15-04 10:02 PM by Proud2BAmurkin
you don't campaign for two years and then give up if you think you have a chance of winning. Kerry doesn't think he does so no one should hold their breath that he'll get involved

Only saw him say no matter what the discrepancies are they add up to enough votes for him to win

he's taking action. maybe not the utmost extreme action, but he IS ACTING, so your assertion is a pile of dung.

11. Why isn't he bringing attention to the issue?
Acting behind the scenes says "I want to satisfy the people who think I won in case I run again but I don't really think I did"

He (or she) has a right to their opinion. I happen to believe much the same thing.

Believing that Kerry doesn't believe he won doesn't make one a freeper.

29. If he doesn't believe he won why is he including "election tampering"
to a law suite in Ohio? Please read post #15. I don't have to have 1000 posts to keep up with valid info or read threads here on DU to gather information before I post negativity about what I would "think" an in depth "thinker" like Kerry is "thinking."

Edited on Wed Dec-15-04 11:14 PM by merh
He may not be sure there is evidence to prove it or even an avenue to pursue to achieve what is rightfully his, but he knows he won it. Go back to the GD thread discussing deaths they are suspicious and could be attributable to the BFEE. Notice the name John Heinz and the discussion relating to him and his opposition the the neo-cons. Then remember who was his colleague in congress and who married his widow. Then remember who pursued the BCCI investigation despite the opposition and the ridicule from the forces that be, #41 and his cronies, the BFEE.

HE KNOWS ABOUT THE BFEE - getting the evidence on them, getting enough to not only assume the position he knows he won, but getting enough on the BFEE to take them down and to stop their grotesque and criminal control of so much of our system, that is his task. He knows he won, he just isn't sure if the evidence can be developed to prove it and destroy the BFEE.

Get a grip!

33. I beleive there's ALWAYS been election tampering...
...or, at least problems with the system. We only pay attention in close elections, though. Even IF intentional tampering existed, I still think Bush won. Believing in election tampering doesn't always mean believing that Kerry won.

I'm not suggesting that 1000+ posts makes somebody more astute than anybody else, I'm saying that I don't question the motives of a 1000+ poster as I might a 20-post newer person. Somebody can disagree and not have any motive other than expressing an opinion.

that gave me the impression you were questioning his ....ahem....political affiliation. I apologize if I was mistaken.

I agree that we don't KNOW what Kerry is thinking. We have to base our opinions on his actions. Proudtobeamurkin stated an opinion and explained the actions (or lack of action) on Kerry's part that formed that opinion. I don't see how that "smells funny".

43. you don't have to apologize. When I see something relevant to
"smirkin" and "Kerry doesn't think he won"...just set me off a bit. Seems to be a lot of Kerry negativity. I think we all need to wait and see how things play out before we get negative. There are a lot of members here that have worked very very hard and are keeping up with pertinent data. I have wondered myself, at times, what he is thinking. But....negative postings about what we think he is up to doesn't do anyone any good.

27. Well, he didn't immediately speak up when the SB Scum attacked.
I have no idea what he's doing, but I am pretty sure he's following a strategy. Whether it's to win the WH in 04 or 08 - or go quitely into the night - I don't know. Hell, he could be out there storming the ramparts - and that could end up being the wrong strategy.

I have very little faith that the scam election results will be overturned, but I'm up for a miracle.

14. I don't think he's given up at all.
He's not out and about yelling and screaming about anything but that's probably a good thing. He certainly didn't come off as the type of person who would panic or jump the gun on anything. He seemed like the calm, cool and collect type of guy who can wait out a battle if need be.

I think it's good that he's not shouting about being the winner or having the election stolen from him because the press would be all over him for being a whiner, or a sore loser.

My feeling (and I hope it's true) is that he's watching everything with lawyers at his side. He's weighing all the information and acting only when absolutely necessary. When all of the information is in and the votes truly are counted, then he'll come out and fight. He's letting things fall into place before he acts. He's getting all of the facts straight and gathering all of the proof. There is no use stirring up controversy for the freepers to use against him at this point.

It doesn't make sense to wait it out and announce his doubts later on. He wouldn't risk letting the story die.

What I'm hoping is that he's comfortable that there is more than enough evidence to turn things his way (which we know there is) so he doesn't have to make a big uproar just yet.

I'm probably just hoping against hope, though. :(

46. The media is not going to fix things or help things, the facts are.
Getting the media in an uproar and on the side of election fraud is very unlikely and actually not necessary. He campaigned for 600 days and rarely, if ever, had the media on his side. He was always the underdog, despite the fact that the media was as dupped by the chimp as the american public was, the still gave the chimp all of the coverage. Kerry won 57,000,000 votes that we know of despite the fact that the media did not give him or his running mate fair attention that was equal to the coverage they gave the chimp. He is not going to wait on the media to turn, he is going to work the process, cultivate the evidence. Grand jury proceedings are done in secret, so that the evidence is not destroyed and so that witnesses are not intimidated. He will allow his staff to develope all the evidence he can and he will work with the greens and the libs in their efforts. If he was worried about press coverage and the negativity of it, he would not have joined the greens and the libs in their tin foil pursuits if there was not evidence and some belief in the election fraud.

Why do you not use reason and stop being controlled by your emotions? If you need a strong figure to stand up and tell you he is mad and will make things right, then you need to look at why you need that, not at why it is not there.

15. Kerry just added "Election Tampering" to a civil suite in Ohio joining The
Green and Cobb parties. This on another thread in the forum:

http://rawstory.com/exclusives/kerry_ohio_suit_1215.php

The lawyers for Green presidential candidate David Cobb and Libertarian presidential candidate Michael Badnarik, along with Kerry-Edwards 2004 have added election tampering to a civil suit filed against the state of Ohio over problems with the state's recount, RAW STORY has learned.

26. Okay. So if Kerry really lost, why are we still tracking
mounting evidence of fraud?

You see, you can't have it both ways.

If Kerry lost, fair and square, I'll tip my hat to the man. Fair is fair.

If we don't know what happened, why isn't he so much more obviously on our side?

I'll lay this down in a heartbeat when we get a good, clean result. But, my question is only, why isn't Kerry standing next to us, asking the same question?

Though who knows the whole story?

And make it stick?

40. Generator-
i've asked the same question a dozen times on DU, and aside from some snarky remarks, i've never had a satisfactory answer. seems appropriate, so i'll aski it again.

even if there is no possibility that the number og votes scammed in Florida and Ohio (and New Mexico) don't add up to the amount plus one that kerry needs to "win", is that the threshhold for leadership? Shouldn't the dems be saying that every vote that isn't cast because of suppression and intimidation is an affront to democracy; every vote cast that isn't counted as it is cast is a deathblow to democracy? I can understand if Kerry wants to keep a low profile on this, but where are the other members of the democratic leadership (appointed, self-appointed and/or elected) excluding Dean, Conyers, Jackson and Sharpton on the issue of enfranchisement.

how is telling americans that every vote should be counted not a bi-partisan issue, how is that that our leaders can't seem to frame the issue that way? and how can these leaders go back out in 2008 and ask voters to vote for them when they've set a very high threshold for taking the battle for enfranchisement on as a critical issue?

Will they say you have to vote for us because *co has really fucked things up? That is what they said this year, and when the evidence seems to indicate that in fact we probably won this year too, they want every i dotted and every t crossed before they take a stand?

i've heard no logical reason here or in any conversation i've had since election day why the dems aren't standing up and say voting matters. instead the calculus is "kerry shouldn't take a stand without all the facts because he doesn't want to be called a sore loser." Huh? That's worse, being called a sore loser for agitiaing about enfranchisement, than being called a liberal loser, which he is already being called?

because we don't want to be called "sore losers?" how much worse shape can the situation be if they call us sore losers for standing up for enfranchisement? And who will we piss off by fighting for the right for everyone to have their vote counted as cast? The mainline pugs? Vets? Fundies? Will we lose some of the 59 mil we got this year to vote for JFK?

Can someone please explain it to me? I must be missing something, I know it.

whalerdier55

44. What about....
the long list of items which Conyers himself pointed out need to be investigated and which are suspect? Also, how do those who donated funds to Kerry's GLAC feel in light of this? There are Congressional Democrats taking stronger stands on this than Kerry, and yet Kerry seemed to indicate that he would ensure all votes would be counted.

45. I think you are correct.
What I have heard is that even though it is known that both sides commit fraud, our side stands to lose a lot more than it is worth in their minds if this thing goes forward on a national level, hence the distance from all of the expected subjects.
