"The Democratic Party news release criticizes him for what the complaint says were Baker's persistent attempts to intimidate a minority voter and a poll watcher.
"This is the latest in a long line of appalling Republican attempts to intimidate African-American voters in Arkansas," said Ron Oliver, chairman of the state Democratic Party. "The fact that this attempted intimidation was by their new chairman shows that this intimidation is practiced and condoned at the highest levels of the Republican Party of Arkansas."
Bird alleges that Baker, in the presence of the voter, erroneously said that "provisional ballots are never counted, so her vote would not count.""
