Breaking: Washington State At least 127 ballots missing?
A new mystery has emerged in King County's vote recount.

Earlier this week, county officials announced 573 ballots had been improperly disqualified because election workers didn't find voter signatures that they should have found in their files.

But Elections Director Dean Logan last night said the county's computer system indicates more than 700 absentee ballots had been rejected because of the missing-signature problem. The difference is not accounted for, he acknowledged.

Here's where it gets more interesting.

1. more interesting indeed
<snip> Kempf said the discrepancy between 573 and 700 is about the same number of envelopes that would fit in one of the trays that King County uses to organize absentee ballots. "It could be something as simple as this tray is on a top shelf and has gotten pushed back and nobody's seeing it immediately when they look," Kempf said.

<snip> Kempf was fired two years ago after the county mailed thousands of absentee ballots late, and she was accused of lying about the mailings, an allegation she denied. </>

Somehow it is even more offensive that they aren't even creative about things. No nuance. No subtlety. No attempt to be discrete.

6. Now, does that mean that you, Julie and Gentry--
--will be getting together to form an organization to continue the work? If you are, I'm on board.

11. They'll do anything ...
... to stop valid votes from being counted. ESPECIALLY here in King County (Seattle). It's pathetic almost to hear the Right wingers spin it on the airwaves. It's okay for Rossi to pick up votes from found ballots around the state... but if it's here in King County ... WE'RE trying to change the rules and steal the governorship. Whatever.

12. Vance is a whining, hysterical, pewling bozo, throwing a useless hissy fit
The WA Repubs want to make the rules, change the rules, bend the rules, whatever it takes, as long as it suits them.

Hey, GB&C, I'm so sorry about your sister, but it sure is good to see you back here.

15. website ... somewhere !
I think it was in the Seattle P.I. 2 days ago ... an article which gave the website ( maybe on the front page ) of the list of King Co. absentee voters whose votes hadn't been counted. I can't seem to find the link now ( after digging through the trash ), but the P.I. website should have it. Hope this helps!

23. Andy, can you help with a list of e-vote executives with prison record
I listened to your BreakForNews interview and it was great to hear some hands on information. We should be getting more.

You're story on Jeff Dean was quite amazing and I thought it would be fun to set up a list of e-voting machine executives with prison records.

The title would be something like:

"The people who count your votes that would have been purged from the voter lists in Jeb Bush's Florida"

This would make a great MSM info sheet handout.

Could you contribute the information you have on Jeff Dean and other exec's to get the ball rolling? DU'ers could fill in the blanks.

Has info on Jeff Dean info been made available on the Net?

Do you think that breaking down the back door he installed on the Seattle law firm's accounting software would help get inside the man's head, even if the software is dated?

TIA
