Hey, Washingtonians, Will The 'Thugs Try And Recall Gregoire
if she wins the recount? I was just cruising Fweeperville, and noticed that there's already a petition to try and recall. Could this succeed? What are the rules governing recalls in Washington?

7. Got a hostility problem?
I was asking reasonable questions. I have no idea if they can or can't recall her- that's why I was asking. Thanks for the cap laden attack. Not.

6. Washington recall laws aren't like Calif
the official to be recalled has to be proven of misuse of office or a crime.

8. Thank you. That's exactly what I was wondering and
it's reassuring to know that they can't recall her.

5. IT would be their own political suicide to do so.
Washington will ahve none of it. And we will win any recall efforts.

9. I think the freepers might be a little confused.
First she as to win. Second, it's not as easy as they seem to think to do a recall in Washington.

I don't expect to see it happen. It would have too many damaging ramifications for the Republicans.

13. King County ballots blocked by Pierce County judge
Edited on Fri Dec-17-04 06:38 PM by nannah
just in from;
The Associated Press
TACOMA, Wash. (AP) — A judge Friday granted a Republican request to block count of hundreds of recently discovered King County ballots in Washington governor's race.

This is from the Daily Olympian breaking news.

What's next????? Whose obstructing the election now???

As I understand the WA rules, county election boards have the right to correct mistakes made in the original count on a recount. The 500 - 700 ballots were set aside in error because the voters' signatures were not scanned into the computer. correct procedure for these ballots was to be taken to where they could be compared to voter signature on hard copy. Instead they were set aside in error. This is a different situation than the 1500 or so ballots that were already determined to be ineligible.
