The best way to find out how your donor dollars are spent by BBV.org

...is to ask BBV's board of directors to supply you a copy of their financial report AND a copy of the IRS Form 990 that BBV will be required to file in April. Then you can compare the two.

In case you aren't acquainted with Form 990, here it is:

Any truly non-profit organization that promotes transparency will gladly provide both documents to you. And, when you request a copy of each, go ahead and ask for a copy of the org's bylaws. It would be very interesting to see the bylaws---if there are any.

Bev said in her post she started BBV in June 2004. If that is when they incorporated and end their fiscal year on May 30 then their 990 would not be due until 9/15

expenditures and donations would be something that most 501c3s keep on hand for inquiries...and most provide them gladly to anyone who asks.

As for the bylaws--I've not heard that BBV has any. Bylaws are required by the fed govt for 501c3s in order to get 501c3 status. It would be interesting to see the bylaws by which BBV operates.
