Officer who threatened Katrina has history of violently arresting women... |
|
Edited on Sun Dec-19-04 02:54 PM by Junkdrawer
From an earlier thread... I wonder if this person is also knowing Xenia Police Officer Matthew R. Foubert, who stated to me on Tuesday, December 14th @ approximately 9:45pm that the you "illiterate vigilantes" are "too stupid" to realize that the "recount was certified earlier today." Further stating, "Get the f--- over it, Bush won." Then threatening to arrest myself and two others that had been watching the Greene County BOE. There were several police, sheriff, and one ranger present surrounding me after I pulled up to argue for a volunteer who they had surrounded with their cars and had shaken with fear. The ranger went on to state, standing to my right and at this time I do not have his name present, that "you're lucky your volunteer did not get shot in the head last night for approaching me." The volunteer saw this ranger come from an area of suspicion and also he was plain clothed and carrying a large bag. He also would not state right off that he was a ranger off duty. The ranger continued,"if that volunteer approaches me again like that I will shoot him in the head." http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=203&topic_id=178060&mesg_id=178060&page=And here's from a SCOTUS case... ... In a second similar case, justices ordered a lower court to reconsider whether officers can be sued when they tackle someone and knock the person to the ground during an arrest.
At issue is the claim of an officer in Xenia, Ohio, that he should be shielded from a lawsuit over his handling of the arrest of a woman.
Police went to the home of Cheryl Lyons in 1998 to investigate an allegation that Lyons' teenage daughter had assaulted someone. The woman claimed that she did not invite officers into her house and argued with one of them.
Another officer, summoned to assist, ran into the house and threw Lyons to the ground in a football-like tackle, she claimed in a lawsuit. Justices threw out a decision by the Cincinnati-based 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals that a jury should be allowed to consider if Officer Matthew Foubert went too far.
The case is Foubert v. Lyons, 03-1622 http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/local/203665_policechases14.html

but I'm going to try to cover a few different posts and then get back to my work.
The question about the pasted email from me that started with.. "I wonder if.."
That was cut from an email I did on CASE_Ohio's list in reply to an article and further went on with the information. Nothing there to be taken out of context. They were dialogue emails you could say between case members.

You wrote in the email posted above,

Can you tell me who "this person" you are referring to is?
The "ranger" you wrote of...is this a park ranger or forest ranger? Did he announce himself as "police" or a "police officer"? Is the BOE in a designated park area? When the ranger said that someone should not "approach him like that" what did he mean? How did the person approach him?

About filing a complaint as to the police officers and such..
In a different email I spoke about this.
On Monday at 12:30pm I will be going to Greene County detectives who were spoken to on Friday. A formal complaint and investigation will happen through internal affairs. I can't give any more information on this at this time and I am truly sorry that I can't.
Hmm I know this won't be good enough for those who believe this is all a bunch of bull. The regional coordinator for the Green Party was there at the recount to give his support because of the events prior to Wednesday. He was there when the tire slashing incident was found, his name is Jesse Tessler. He also knows why I was weary to filing reports. He was also there when I pointed out to him that the ranger from the night before came up and made a comment about my tire being slashed.

where it posted I don't know but I will post it here just for you indy.
I am once again frustrated with logging in and keeping up with posts. The following is for Vinnie From Indy and can be posted on DU with my consent:
I'm sorry Vinnie from Indy that you feel as you do. I have to wonder though, are you skeptic, or are you from the other side? The Indy part of your user name does that mean you are from Indiana? I checked with people at indyvote and it doesn't appear you are from there so I ask you this question. I had a company that built houses in New Lebanon, Ohio last year. We won't talk about all of that, but I drove over the boarder into Indiana almost every day. So I will be VERY blunt in saying, if you are so in doubt why don't you come here personally and join my team. I will put your doubts to rest. This is a challenge. Actions speak a lot louder than words, what actions are you taking? I have three children and it's close to christmas. I could be at home with them who need me so much, but I'm looking after their futures in this hell hole of a country. Would you like to put your life, your car, and your familys relative (that being you whether you are a father or whatever else) on the line and come see for yourself? But I must tell you this... I don't go for ones that say they would want to sit at home because if sitting at home here would do the work I wouldn't be walking around with pneumonia. Want documentation from my doctor? So in anger... either hush (and come do something) or get off the pot! (and run off to the other side) But try not to detour me or my team because I am known to call people out!

Solicitations have been made on this board for pre-paid gasoline cards to be sent to a private P.O. Box in NC, cash to be sent by Western Union payable in your name, and PayPal funds to your personal account, rather than to a legitimate election recount organization.
Would you please comment on this?

28. Video is NOT stealthy... |
|
...those cops would have demanded the cameras be turned off or immediately taken the cameras in this kind of confrontation, why do you assume they wouldn't? Then, in that eventuality, unless the media is there a hidden device is your only recourse. Think it through....

,,dictaphones don't record very well when they are in pocketbooks. It may also be against Federal wiretapping laws to record audio like that. (but then again, who really obeys the law in Ohio) With video, she could have taped the scene from a distance, before the cop came up to her. And even taping the cop telling her to turn off the camera would be of great interest, no? There should be video running in all voting places. If it's ok to have video running while people are eating in diners, then why not in other areas where crime has taken place? Also, you can buy a device now for 100 bucks that records audiio and video and fits in a pocket. (not great quality, though)

Yeah, Bush fiscal policies creating more criminals, and providing said criminals free access to deadlier "cop-killer" weapons is always a good combination. Never said you have to be bright to be a cop. You do, however, have to be willing to kill and use physical force (all in the line of duty, of course....)
In line with this thread, I really don't believe Katrina is a fraud. In reality it could be, but I can't imagine a Freeper being smart enough to concoct the fraud, all the way through finding a Xenia/Greene cop who has a documented history of violence towards females to tie the whole story together? Maybe a Rovian whore would be so maniacal and evil....Dunno, I think some things will start to come to light through more mainstream sources over time (next few weeks).
In the meantime, it would be JUST PEACHY to find out why Cobb isn't aware of any of these issues, since Katrina is supposed to be working for Greens? Would help to quell any doubts and ease some minds here. Thanks. :-)

27. The case is Foubert v. Lyons |
|
The case is not Lyons v. Foubert. I wonder what's going on here.
Hey, did anyone see "Monster" with Charlize Theron? What did this woman Lyons look like? Was she extremely physically intimidating? Was she threatening this Officer Foubert?
Let's be careful here, because one incident with one woman does not make a "history of violently arresting women." We don't know the facts.
More police officers are killed in domestic disputes than in any other scenario. Please be mindful of that. The facts will come to light under oath, in a court of law, about Officer Foubert and his encounter with Katrina and those who accompanied her.
I'm just sayin'

31. Yes, but the first case is unrelated to Xenia or Officer Foubert |
|
Edited on Sun Dec-19-04 06:59 PM by Straight Shooter
"Instead, the court issued an unsigned opinion that found only that the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco erred in ruling that the officer, Rochelle Brosseau, clearly violated the suspect's constitutional rights.
Brosseau shot Kenneth Haugen in 1999 as he fled in his Jeep to avoid being arrested on drug charges and for questioning in a burglary in Puyallup."
And from my reading of the article, the second case cited is Foubert v. Lyons.
"At issue is the claim of an officer in Xenia, Ohio, that he should be shielded from a lawsuit over his handling of the arrest of a woman ....
Another officer, summoned to assist, ran into the house and threw Lyons to the ground in a football-like tackle, she claimed in a lawsuit. Justices threw out a decision by the Cincinnati-based 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals that a jury should be allowed to consider if Officer Matthew Foubert went too far."
The case is Foubert v. Lyons, 03-1622.
On second reading of this, it appears that Foubert was not the one who tackled Lyons, but rather it was the assisting officer. Apparently Ms. Lyons sued the other officer and Foubert, and then Foubert in turn sued her to be shielded from the punishment directed to the assisting officer.
I would have to know the facts of his involvement. It isn't unusual for someone to sue everyone involved, in a case such as this. Please understand, I'm not saying Officer Foubert is a choirboy. I just don't want to make a rush to judgment.
Edit punctuation and to mention that the article is not clear as to who did what in the Lyons incident.
