7. You can add CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll to these polls. |
|
Bush, 49 percent of respondents said they approved of the job the president is doing. That number is down from his November approval rating of 55 percent. Bush is the first incumbent president to have an approval rating below 50 percent one month after winning re-election. http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/12/20/poll/

been elected. It's going to take some very unpopular measures to pull this country back together. I think sometimes it must have been a relief for Kerry not winning.

With Shrubbery in office, it has been bad news after bad news after bad news. There is nothing that this administration is doing that is positive in any way, shape or form. The Bush "re-election" is like a bad dream I keep hoping that I will wake up from...but it never happens.
War in Iraq, economy tanking, election stolen, media under the fascist's thumb, tax cuts for rich, fuck the poor...
We have a President that the rest of the world (and half of the country) has no respect for. When I watched John Kerry during the debates, I saw a man who would represent our country in the manner in which we deserve to be represented. I saw a man who commanded respect; not a man who "expected" respect. John Kerry would have been a positive influence on this country in these times of negativity.
I have no sense of hope for the future at all, now. None.

in pulling the country back together. He doesn't, and never has had. He'll charge his tax cuts and wars to future generations and be fine with it. The media will aid and abet him in this as it has in everything. Only Kerry would actually be trying to fix our problems, and he would be crucified by the media for trying to do so.

And, yes, they would dip when the economic armageddon hits. How low they would go would depend on his ability to really communicate with the public -- about why what happens happens. At this point, as enraged as I am about the theft of this election, I can also see that this -- revealing the theft -- is the only way that we have a chance to expose just how crooked * and cronies are, the only way we can lay low the corporate media. They fail to report on the election fraud and then *bam* - they are exposed once again for the useless group of sheep they have become.

I'm boycotting the corporate media, and don't know how this is being played on CNN or other networks. Is it just being stated, and then they move on to "other news", or is the significance being explored at all?

11. How could Kerry fail against such unpopular incumbant? |
|
Put that together with the all time high turn out...both Bush and Kerry supposedly got more votes than Clinton, Reagan, or Roosevelt ever got when they won. Bush achieved the all time record popular vote when he's this unpopular?
It's not possible. Someone was electronically stuffing the ballot box.

If the representatives can find a senator to stand with them to challenge the election results on Jan 6, THEN we'll see some real "TERRA." (I do believe that Conyers and the members of the Congressional Black Caucus, at least, will stand up on Jan 6 as they did in 2000.)

24. 48% is now considered a mandate. They changed the rules in Congress... |
|
They voted on it along with the rule about indicted officials, but it didn't get much press at the time.
Now, any majority party official with a job approval above 30% is officially declared to have a mandate.
They even have an award ceremony for it. A special medal, picturing a scale with an elephant weighing down one side, is presented.
Kidding :)

I know this might sound crazy, but I think we could do a more accurate job of collecting the data on a poll. It would require that a number of us would be willing to call a random sample and ask them the same question. Most of the polls use about a 1000 people with a sampling error of 3 points. If the sampling was done correctly this would be a great way to see what his approval rating is. I suspect it is probably closer to 30%.
