I took the TIME to write an email to the editor as well. Hope the rest of you did too. Just a simple, Bush isn't even my president let alone person of the year! 51% of Americans didn't even vote for him, or did we? Then... Why don't you try reporting on election fraud? Here are a few websites to help you along... I know I have found them much more informative and accurate than anything I have seen in the "media" for quite some TIME now!
Not very nice, but I'm not up to being nice about it anymore!

61. The only bright spot I see in this is the cover |
|
That is the worst rendering of Junior I have ever laid eyes on! ROFL! Bleah! That's just awful. Bar must be having a whole herd of cows right about now. They finally gave her baby some recognition and they crown it with a hideous painting. I doubt Pickles cares. Senior is probably chewing on the furniture because it isn't him. Folks in Florida should be on the lookout for earthquakes with their epicenter in the Gov.'s mansion. ;)
I certainly voted 'no', but considering he is now in the company of the likes of Hitler, Stalin, and Khomeini as Time's MOTY, it seems rather fitting. He doesn't deserve it for the reasons Time gives us, though. Those are sheer nonsense.

Let Time what I thought...
To: letters@time.com Subject: Bush is a War Criminal...
It is absolutely hideous to give praise to Bush and his thugs. They have attempted to steal two elections, killed over 121,200+ people in illegal wars, have reversed protection of children, women, the environment, not to mention the intentional elimination of civil rights of all citizens of this country... and they are just getting started on their psychotic obsession with turning this nation into a police state. These war criminals will not be happy until they have occupied every natural resource on this planet, destroyed innocent countries, and many thousands of decent American's sons and daughters lie in their graves, or worse, return home devastated for the rest of their lives by the trauma of killing innocent people for oil.

By supporting President Bush with your Person of the Year Award, you immerse yourself in the blood of innocent Iraqii’s. You take their blood on your hands by supporting this war criminal. G.W. Bush has presided over the deaths of more innocent civilians (over 100,000) than Milosevic and Saddam combined. By honoring him, you share his guilt. You are complicit. Shame on you.

98. This is just as bad as the news bit that said "Moral Values" |
|
decided the election! I think NOT!!! How can Time vote him the man of the year, when his approval rating has fallen below 50%. It a Rove strategy once again! a perfect example of the News conglomerates spoonfeeding the people!

|
does not seem right. People can just sit there and vote all day. How can this have any value. One would think that there should be a rejection by computer addresss if over one vote.

121. The reply I got from Time Mag. in answer to my complaint |
|
From: Time Letters To: me... Sent: Tuesday, December 21, 2004 3:41 PM Subject: Person of the Year (was Re: Person of the Year)
Dear Reader:
We regret your disappointment over the selection of President Bush as TIME's Person of the Year. But perhaps we should remind you of the traditional standard by which the editors make their annual choice. The Person of the Year is not an award or a tribute. The question at the center of the selection process is, Who or what, for better or worse, has affected the way we live today? The answer to that question could be a force for good (for example, Winston Churchill, Man of the Year, 1940; Dwight Eisenhower, 1944) or for evil (Adolf Hitler, Man of the Year, 1939; Ayatullah Khomeini, 1979). And to the latter, President George W. Bush must be added for 2004 -- there is no one else whose agenda and actions in the past year had such universal impact. As managing editor Jim Kelly noted in his Letter From the Editor, Bush has had his highs and lows over the past four years, but in the end he prevailed in the 2004 election by "persuading a majority of voters this time around that he deserved to be in the White House for another four years."
Thank you for writing. We appreciated having the opportunity to respond to your concerns.
Best wishes.

I'll take more satisfaction when proof is shown this dumb ass stole the election. Then Time could be put on the butcher block as to why they didn't investigate voting fraud with as much passion as MOY!

141. Vote Early, Vote Often lol!!! |
|
It seems to be one user one vote now.
I got this message from a friend:
I was clicking on it for an hour straight but then I noticed it starts to go backwards to the original tally before I kept hitting. I think there is a maintenance sweep going on that monitors the ip addresses or something that are voting. When it sees duplicates I think it deletes them.
