A really good question .......
I only have one question, whether you believe the election,
particularly in Ohio, was rigged or not:

If the election in Ohio (at least) was so honest, forthright, candid,
above-board and all that, why isn't the entire collective force of
elections officials, from Taft and Blackwell down to the 'lowest'
precinct elections officer, saying, "Sure, come on in, we have nothing
to hide - let's do that hand recount so we can prove it," instead of
obstructing, blocking, locking-down (and unlocked locking-down), ballot
invalidating and the whole slew of actions they've taken to HIDE
anything that might even look suspicious (and failing miserably at
that)?

Subject: Latest article from Ohio on the fraudulent election

Volunteer attorneys and other volunteers have been in Ohio since before
the election. The systematic, pervasive, and widespread methods
utilized to thwart the will of the voters of Ohio is being well
documented. Yet the Ohio Secretary of State Blackwell and many local
election officials are stonewalling as much as possible to prevent the
truth from emerging. Rev. Jesse Jackson is calling for major
demonstrations on January 3 to protest this theft of one more election.
The following two quotes from volunteer attorneys helps put this issue
into perspective:

Karen Peterson, attorney working for all of us in Ohio: "We will lose
our democracy unless we are willing to fight for it. If we allow voter
suppression and dirty tricks to go uncovered and unpunished, we should
not be surprised if these tactics become more virulent in future
elections." Melanie Braithwaite, attorney working for all of us in
Ohio: "To me free _expression and exchange of ideas, and the right to
vote in free and fair elections are paramount moral and civic values to
be protected at all costs. If it costs me some time and inconvenience
to volunteer in this effort, then so be it. It is the price I pay to
be an American citizen. I personally witnessed a moral outrage on
election day."

1. The election was stolen
I think it was rigged and I don't think there is anyone with the b**** or integrity to come forward. Their pockets are way too heavy to make them do something that may make them give their money (or future office)back.

5. Elections must be transparent
If these bastages continue to act like thugs, treating our democracy like organized crime, there will be a great social backlash. They are getting away with it for now, but they will fall. Arrogance is almost always the downfall of evildoers.;-)
KEEP HOPE ALIVE!!!

4.  So - if you're not sure about the Ohio recount, here is how you make sure
After the "canvassing period" ends, the election records - ballots and polling books - become public record. This means that anyone can recount them if they pay for the county workers' time that it takes.

If there is (as there seems to be) a big group of DUers that is convinced that there was fraud, and who are interested in uncovering it regardless of the fact that it won't install Kerry as president - why not collect the money and do those recounts? Ohio, Florida, New Mexico - anywhere you like?

Miami Herald has already done this in 3 counties in Florida. I have seen reports of some people doing it on their own in other counties in Florida. I believe the cost of the recount in those counties was $10/hour for the time that it takes.

"But it will be too late" - too late for what? Too late to have Kerry as president - assuredly. But not too late to prove fraud, and taint Bush's second term - if massive fraud is proven.

I calculated, based on the costs of Florida recounts by peaople from www.recountflorida.com that the total cost of recount in Ohio that will need to be paid to the BOEs should be around $300,000. I am sure every DUer who is dead sure that widespread fraud has been perpetrated in Ohio will run, not walk, to donate/volunteer/participate in such a recount.
