Kerry to enter Fray - What it means.
This *is* a big deal. Moyer just said they weren't going to go to any special lengths to protect the machines, which means we could have lost lots of direct, hard evidence. He also said they weren't going to expedite, which put us on very bad footing, time-wise.

This anything can get us a REAL, TIMELY investigation, this ought to be it.

Q: Will this have any affect on the Arnebeck suit? Or are they legally unconnected?

1. I agree.
Kerry is doing this for the purpose of influencing Arnebeck's lawsuit--in particular, in hopes of getting it expedited.

2. They are legally unconnected
but it may well have a salutory effect.

This is a very big deal indeed. And I get a feeling that, good lawyer that he is, Kerry announced now because he was busy gathering evidence first. I hope Blackwell has his cell picked out.

8. Moyers denies an expedited hearing in the case - Raw Story

Thursday, December 23, 2004
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ohio Supreme Court Chief Justice Thomas J. Moyer, a Republican who was re-elected on the same ballot as President George W. Bush Nov. 2 but has declined to recuse himself from a suit contesting the president's election, issued a motion and procedural ruling today that denies an expedited hearing in the case and lays out the framework by which he might dismiss the case. RAW STORY acquired the ruling Wednesday afternoon.

In the ruling, displayed below, Moyer orders those contesting the election to answer two questions: (1) Whether the suit is moot because it was filed too late, and (2) Whether there is a legal significance in delaying the hearing until after Congress certifies the results of the electoral college Jan. 6, 2005.

Moyer had previously dismissed the first iteration of the suit—which also contested his own election—ruling that two elections could not be challenged in the same suit.

I believe it was still the answer to the question, no?

At any rate, the article was dated today - 12/23. Perhaps it was updated.

20. ITS DIFFERENT TODAY BECAUSE.....
what Kerry filed shows that 'irrepairable (sp?) harm was involved towards his final vote tally, and the GLIBS could not produce the same criteria.
The irrep. harm opens the case.

9. i think every one of us here
has sent letters to our senator and our Congress people. they are aware of how we feel. i know i have sent to mine and others. even to my republican house member. its just so damn important that they understand we are not going to sit back and let this happen. i also send them to my friends to sign.

We need to keep on top of them. we are much more organized then we were in 2000. and they know it. i think we will have to do something serious if we are not given support from our Representatives.

who will do anything to protect the Chimp and all think that they do not have to adhere to the law.

13. It hasn't been a democracy since 2000 and screaming to CNN, MSNBC,
and ESPECIALLY FOX will get you nowhere. It will clearly take a civil uprising to gain any attention and to make changes, like the Ukraine did.

21. informed speculation.
I was correct that the "limited revote" in North Carolina would not survive a court challenge as well.

But we'll see.
