The big thing we now have to fear is how the rest of the world responds to our electoral debacle.
In particular, the combination of disdain for Bush, and the desire to secure themselves from the political tantrums of the ruling imperial political cabal, may well result in a flight FROM the Dollar and TO the Euro.
The loss of the Dollar as the common reserve and exchange currency would sink us into a depression the likes of which we have never seen. All debts would come due on time without possibility of favorable repayment terms. And China owns a big chunk of our financial ass (as does England).
This is what I really fear. The world is set up for just such a financial disaster. It could destroy us but leave Europe and China relatively unscathed. And a lot of people would love to make it happen.
Financial experts, can you add to this or clarify it at all?

In some ways, it may be better for Kerry that Bush and the GOP are burdened with this crisis. Who else can they now reasonably blame?

7. Letr me count some of the ways |
|
1.- Some nations (India, Germany, France, China) are quietly divesting from our debt.
They will not outright call it, since that would send the baby into a panic, and it would be a declaration of war... I am not kidding there.
So they are donig this quietly...
No interests on any of our debt, this is a problem
2.- Russia stoppped suporting the dollar... and is quietly moving to the Euro and a Gold standard. Oh did I mention they are not alone and the US Dollar is slowly collapsing? They are donig this slowly enough that most people are not even noticing
3.- Did I mention alliances that hve been quietly forming? Think China - Iran.... oh don't expect to read this in the US press
4.- Private investors are divesting from US markets, they don't give nnough of a return and anybody with brains will want to invest SOMEWHER else.
This is how you bring this Empire down
Oh and even now MORE troops (some Easter European ountry) are pulling out of Moss -0-potamia.

If we go to a barter system Wall Street and bankers and politicians and pundits would get very hungry indeed.
