Florida Said to Get Few Election Challenges

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (Dec. 24) - The horde of partisan lawyers dispatched to Florida in anticipation of widespread Election Day voter eligibility challenges wound up with precious little to do: Only a relative handful of challenges were posed statewide, according to a newspaper report.

Only 63 challenges were made among about 3.9 million votes cast Nov. 2, The St. Petersburg Times reported in Friday editions, citing data from elections supervisors' offices obtained through public records requests.
Those challenges focused on people who were not registered, voting in the wrong precinct or convicted felons. It could not be determined how many challenged ballots were rejected.

Of Florida's 67 counties, 57 had no challenges, including more populated counties such as Duval and Orange. Miami-Dade and Broward, two of the largest Democratic counties, saw the most challenges with 25 and 16 respectively.

Republican strategists said they had planned for challenges, but decided against it in the last hours of the campaign.

3. Do you think they are going to say any different?
It is all about making the followers believe that all is well!
And they will proclaim that Ohio had no problems at all.
Actually, if you look at it from the bush regime point of view, there were few problems.
They had no problem fixing the vote and deceiving millions of voters and the media in believing that the exit polls were just wrong in those two states and the fact that people had to wait for hours to vote just did not happen.
It is all pure propaganda bull shit to deceive the American public, those that still believe the system is not broken, and no one would do these things to the democracy.
Pure Bull Shit!

4. No challenges? No problems? No fraud here in Florida? Think again.
There was fraud here in the sunshine state- lots of it- but it was more subtle. Also there was massive incompetence- absentee ballots mailed late after the first 36,000 were "lost", some never mailed at all, machines malfunctioning (I don't think the machine counting backwards in Broward was deliberate- I think in that case, it was a computer error- not that it mattered if the end result was that the count was inaccurate, not enough staff to count absentee ballots (Miami Dade County could not figure out why if they mailed out 110,000 absentee ballots, they could have 105,000 returned! Therefore, the did not have enough staff to count the ballots in a timely manner. When they called the election for Florida, over 100,000 were still uncounted. Strange, right? Then there were problems with provisional ballots, precinct changes, etc.

But the deliberate problems (and I know there were many) included harassment during early voting by GOP attorneys in minority precincts when voters (mostly Haitian) asked for assistance with the machines, long lines and less machines in certain areas (especially universities, state workers (troopers I believe) targeting African American elderly citizens in Orlando advising them not to vote due to registration errors, etc.

But the real fraud was in those black boxes, which is what Bev Harris and her team have been so focused on exposing. I know BBV has fallen from grace with DU, but I am one of those who continues to be impressed with her and the care and attention she has demonstrated to uncover the truth. The Clint Curtis story rang true for me- in a big way. I knew in 2002, when it showed that I had voted for Jeb and not Bill McBride when it was time to re-check my vote, that something terrible was going on in those machines. And it was.

This morning I saw a note in a piece on www.redefeatbush.com that jumped out at me regarding Florida which I figured I'd post since we're talking about Florida:

"Our cause has been aided considerably today by the addition to our legal team of soon-to-be-former Florida Congressman Peter Deutsch, who said he'd only help us if we could present to him a compelling case of widespread voter fraud in Florida. Bev Harris pretty much won him over. Thanks to Bev and the BlackBoxVoting.org team for enabling us to win a forceful and articulate advocate over to our side."

The biggest problem of course with Florida, is Jeb and his team. My guess is that the Clint Curtis story will become a major part of the investigation (eventually) as things begin to unravel- and they will, and they must...
