Rumsfeld in Iraq - another ploy to take the news off of voting scandal |
|
Am I finally too jaded to think that the SOD would actually go to Iraq because he gives a damn about the people he has sent over there under-prepared and under-protected, conscripted into a service without end, that he is finally bothered by the dead and maimed bodies coming home OR does this administration need to swing the news off the gathering storm in Ohio, the loss of the governorship in Washington and the mounting evidence of fraud?
MSM is spending the morning talking about Rumsfeld's "surprise" trip to Iraq and how "difficult" it is to get him safely in and out. (If only the soldiers were given such protection.) The MSM is also spending an inordinate amount of time discussing the cloning of a cat, the difficulty of last minute shoppers due to the weather and rehashing old news as the year ends.
Maybe he's just trying to build his stock back up with the grunts in the field. Noticed he didn't take any questions this time. "They" wouldn't use a war zone and soldiers to move the message off the home front would they? Nah, not these guys.

2. Does anyone really think his job was ever in serious jeopardy? |
|
Really? Bush loves Rummy, Rummy loves Bush - the hell with the GOP, the hell with the Dems, the hell with both the Senate and the House and especially - the hell with Americans who think Rumsfeld is doing a terrible job. Rummy has the prerequisite factors to ensure his job is always safe with this administration - he agrees with everything that Dim Son says and is willing to order people to their death for his "leader." His job is safe no matter who complains.

3. He took questions in Tikrit. |

First question: Will army size be increased. A: Yes, by 30,000.
A question, the sense of which was: Will "America" be willing to stick it out for as long as the army is willing to stick it out to do their jobs?
A few others like that.

They think it's a joke. No concern whatsoever, actually they seem to think it's going to backfire. Either their wearing a pretty convincing poker face or they don't give a crap.
