The one and only reason * won. |

He stood behind the Constitutional amendment against gay people. The idea that "morality" played a major roll in this is a smoke screen for homophobic behavior. This is the one issue that rallied his troops. They had not a clue about health care, social security, or even this war on terror. They had one thing in their collective little minds. We are living in a Nation where half of us equate hatred for morality.

The Dems are the ones backing states rights on the gay marriage issue. The Repub platform (though Bush and Cheney have both said they oppose it :wtf:) is to deny states the right to make their own decisions on the issue by putting it into the US constition.
The Repub party no longer believes in states rights.

"states' rights" was not about states' rights - it was code speak.

It is the Gov't and Big Media sanctioned 'Official Conspiracy Theory' to explain the 2004 debacle.

with a five percent lead, and we have no way of auditing the electronic transactions.
Yes a lot of people got out and voted for bigotry, and not just to disallow "marriage", but to undo civil unions and any contract between two people of the same sex that could be construed to give the benefits of marriage.
I think that technically means that my last will and testament is invalid.
It goes beyond hatred and bigotry - it's war.

6. We HAVE to get on this issue. |
|
It is a play to bring us further into the church state. If we fall into this, and I am afraid we will, then what will we do? Become more like them? Most of us certainly do not want that. We have to think of a way to fight this. Morality does not equal bigotry.

9. I go to church regularly *and* even teach Sunday School... |

And there is no way in holy hell I'd ever vote for Chimpy. Of course, I believe in separation of church and state and a lot of these neocon types do not. It is another measure of control for them.
I'm not sure I mentioned it in an earlier post, but a friend in the UK (who offered me a job and my family her guest room if things get worse, bless her) said she kept hearing that America was now a Fundamentalist Christian nation and some were debating how long it would take Shrub to force a vote for a state religion. (Ironic coming from a country with a state religion that has around 10% church participation, eh?)
Although the Catholics are powerful and a large group, so I think Chimpy and the neocons will have a fight on their hands if they want to push their whole right-wing born again crap completely down everyone's throats.

More Christian evagelicals were pumped by gay marriage to go to the polls than we were over Iraq, tax cuts, the environment and failure on 9/11? I don't believe it.
It's the vote theft,(place your favorite put-down here.)

12. Here is how to really get these Right Wing Conservative assholes |
|
It requires the volunteering on the part of the Gay Community for several months. Primarily weekend work.
The plan: Openly Gay people couple up, man & woman, and start attending church on Sunday. Locate the really conservative churches. Go as if you are a new couple and are shopping for a new church. Keep attending and getting involved. Eventually express interest in being a member of the church.
I know this requires putting up a false face but wait.
After a couple of months of being a member and being totally involved. You come clean. You get up in front of the church and express the need to get this out in the open that you are Gay. It would be priceless to see these people freak out, to watch them go nuts to find out that a Gay person was living among them, the righteous ones. I would pay money to watch a scene like that. I can't do that, because I am hopelessly heterosexual.
