How will this come about?

Currently, most people are pooh-poohing the idea that election fraud took place. Thank the "mainstream media." If--against all odds--someone comes up with incontrovertible proof of fraud, what will happen?

Will the "mainstream media" merely neglect to tell people? That's what happened in 2000. I didn't know about the problems with purging voters until I became a Dem and started reading political books.

If the information all comes broiling to the surface, what will BushCo do?

It seems to me that Rove will be working full time to make sure that the investigators and suit filers come up with nothing and lose, respectively. That failing, they'll try to keep the information under wraps through any means necessary.

But what if it gets out in a big way? What can we expect? Personally, I don't think it will be allowed to go that far. I think ShrubCo has too much control. :(

11. Only difference is those men WERE the power - * isn't the power - he's the
wooden dummy sitting on Edgar Bergen's lap - only instead of a hand up his ass, he has a wireless transmitter taped to his back....

18. There was a distinct advantage to Charlie McCarthy
which the shrub handlers no doubt wish their dummy had.
Old Charlie couldn't ad lib.

5. Here's how the * team will fight it:
a) Make sure that the propaganda arm of the administration (FOX, Limbaugh, etc) hammers relentlessly on anyone who challenges the results as sore losers, crybabies, crackpots, left wing nuts, etc.

b) continue with plans for inauguration, etc. Appearances mean much more than reality.

c) rely on the fact that Americans do NOT want to believe that anything like this could happen in our country. Our faith in our institutions is a very strong argument for why the status quo will be maintained.

15. This makes a hell of a lot of sense to me.
Having been on the other side (both a religious right type and a supply-side Republican), I know how resistant that set of people can be to truth. My mind took a lot of hard knocks before it was able to accept certain truths.

Fox, Limbaugh, etc. can keep people from even considering the truth. That's been going on for years!

9. Even G-d could not convince repugs. Right wing VOTERS will never concede
G-d could come appear as a giant face in the sky for 24 hours straight, and tell people that Bush=Satan and show behind the scenes movies of Karl Rove stealing the 2004 elections ....and these rightwing nutcases would still fight for Bush.

Quite simply, about 40% of voters in this country will vote republican, even if it kills them AND democracy...and destroys the world. Some people are so stupid!

10. Laydhawk, so glad you are here at DU...
my partner and I were talking last night about the state of DU and where has everyone gone... he was sad to hear that you had posted that you would not be able to spend more time and that you are not well. Please take care... as for * leaving - still hope it comes in hand cuffs -- he and his crew will not go in a dignified manner. And hell will certainly break out... we'll see... but there have been many corrupt leaders brought down as history tells us. They are already spinning - Maxine Waters(of all people! Pah-leeze!) was on the chopping block (Novak/Crossfire) the other day.

13. Yes, glad to hear from you Ladyhawk!
It's hard to stay away, eh?

One thing to remember folks, many MANY people are simply uninformed! I think that it will all become clear to them very quickly!

I am an independent and fairly conservative.....but becoming more of a lefty everyday! I remember when I first saw F 911......and how the bells started going off in my head. It all made sense very shortly!!

What *Co. has done is soooooo unamerican that it will make the majority madder than a hornets nest soon enough! We should plan on being in the streets when the time is right!

16. I guess we'll find out who is simply misinformed...
...and who is willfully ignorant. IF something comes of this. :)

Yeah, I've had a hard time staying away, especially today. I'm waiting for my MRI. I also think I have an emergency situation with my health. I can't do certain things for myself, like clean cages and do laundry. My lower back doesn't like carrying loads in front of my body or scrubbing in a "weird" position.

Gotta find some help...

17. Most people in this country believe the election was rigged *already*
A nurse, a physical therapist, lots and lots of ordinary people in the streets--and us. They will be entirely ready for the news and profoundly relieved if the Congress, under the Constitution, removes this gang from office. There are too many of us, too many small newspapers, some people of conscience in big media, and the word is already out.

The Bush administration's duplicity is equaled only by its incompetence. The same people who brought you Iraq have attempted to foist this election on us, and this time, it will not work.

Karl Rove is only a bogeyman, only a hired PR flack--there are no brains in the administration capable of doing what's necessary to really sieze power. They all believe their own propaganda, which is good for us. They believe that they control the media, and they don't. They believe that they create reality, but we're the reality, and the soldiers in Iraq, and the contractor who fixes your wiring. The Bush administrtion is in for a salutary dose of reality.
