I decided to change the heading after reading Will's lates't article. (Come on, we all flip flop every once in a while. LOL!)

8. I don't understand politicasista. If it's just gonna be a day or two, why
tell us? Just take a break my friend. I sometimes leave a day or two then come back and post when I'm ready. No need to explain yourself, just do it. Believe me, it feels great to just to make plans to do something for a day without being in front of your computer.

13. Just remember, NO computer. Call some friends to make plans to see
a movie and have dinner or lunch or breakfast. Make plans that will take a good chunk of the day to do where you can't be tempted to come back. :hi:

6. Take a breather, politicasista --
Edited on Mon Dec-27-04 09:45 PM by Radio_Lady
This is the nature of Internet communications. Back and forth, and often a great deal of hostility ensues. I am a white woman, wife, grandmother, mother, stepmother. I grew up in segregated Florida and remember vividly the plight of the "negroes" in my state. Later on, my former husband and I tried to play a part in the 1960's race problems. We did it one-in-one (because we were working and couldn't get to Selma, Alabama) by befriending a couple (he was black, she was white) and by asking Gregory Hines, the late tap dancer, to be my daughter's godfather.

I feel sorry for any African-Americans who were disenfranchised by these elections. I voted for Kerry in a blue state (Oregon). I wish I could come by and have a cup of coffee with you tonight!

Back off of this web site, turn on some jazz, let's talk in the DU lounge about the movie "Ray" and other things!

Peace. Have a good 2005!!

7. I like it here...
Edited on Mon Dec-27-04 09:46 PM by politicasista
I am just afraid of what may happen if we are let down. I believe in optimism, but if Kerry doesn't come through, than all hell would break lose here, right?

You have a good 2005 too.

12. I'm sorry that you are feeling this way...
I feel terrible about the way things are going too, both on the blogs and in the world. I am not sure if this means a whole lot coming from a "white chick", but I am very sorry that the African American community has been overlooked and disenfranchised. I believe you are totally correct in that assessment, and it DOES need to change. No person or persons should be overlooked, by any group or party.

Clinton WAS an excellent President, and he truly did manage to transcend all racial, ethnic, age and socio-economic boundaries and reach out to all Americans. His Republican critics don't like to give him an ounce of credit about anything, but he really did care about people. (Still does.)

I don't know what the future holds for America, but I do feel that our Democracy is in grave danger, and our nation is becoming horribly, and perhaps irreparably divided.

I feel your pain in that respect, and it kills me too.

Take care of yourself, and keep your fingers crossed that our ailing nation is somehow repaired. Also consider not leaving forever, even if it's too painful right now.

(I too have been tempted to swear off communicating with others indefinitely because I just can't handle the stress.)

I hope you feel better soon,
Vektor

16. Take a break, rest, but please COME BACK and help!
This is not about Kerry anymore, this is about a long fight to get the truth out and take back our country. ** will not clean up his mess; we need to MAKE him clean it up.

Those videos of the disenfrachised black voters in Ohio just makes me weep... we CAN'T allow our nation to go back to crap like that!!

And if something is not done to get a handle on these voting machines, well, we are all REALLY going to be disenfrachised if this goes on through another election.

We need good people like you politicasista.
