LOL, so this is it?
I've been depressed sinced the election was stolen in my own state (Ohio), and I've not had the heart to let it go. I've stood back and watched others (on here, etc.) talk about the fraud and how Kerry "has a secret plan", and blah blah blah.

I never really believed that we could overturn this election, though I have hoped somehow it could happen. I've remained loyal to John Kerry, and have planned on supporting him if he chooses to run in 2008.

I've come to a few new conclusions though, after what I've read on here today. One: nobody cares. Only the few dedicated progressives and alienated right-wingers that have called for investigation care. Everyone else is perfectly happy with throwing away the democracy our father's fought and died for.

Two: It seems Kerry isn't going to fight. I understand. I can think of some reasons (political) that he wouldn't drag this out. I still admire the man, and if he decides to run in '08, I'll support him. If not, fine. I'm a little upset at the idea of just bending over for the GOP pricks and gritting my teeth.

As far as the people that preach about trying to understand average Bush voters, piss on that. They're morons. Many of them are serving in the military, or have loved ones serving, and I send them my support for that. Other then that, piss on it. They wanted to throw away my democracy, and they have. I'm not gonna be sorry because I believe in the dream this nation was founded on. I'm not gonna be sorry for looking up to Washington, Jefferson, Adams, Lincoln, Roosevelt(both), Kennedy, Truman and Clinton.

I guess we have to take it up the ass for another four years, and more then likely longer then that if we allow Rove to put another scumbag in office. I will not, however, understand or tolerate people that allow the destruction of my beloved country.

If more people are worried about Janet Jackson's tits or Barry Bonds shooting more rhoids then Hulk Hogan, then George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, and Ken Blackwell urinating on the American flag, it's over.

4. What's yours?
What's yours? Continue to post info about hearings on this, and lawsuits on that. It's good stuff, and it makes some folks feel better for it. It might even make you feel better. I hope it does, and I mean that with all my heart.

I'm tired of the bullshit. We got fucked. I just want somebody to come out, and putting it all aside, just admit that. Just come out and say, "we all got fucked."

I'm sorry if I don't live up to your level of spirits. You have more kick left. This donkey has gone lame. Sorry.

5. Don't apologize
Edited on Tue Dec-28-04 12:58 AM by WilliamPitt
My plan is to help turn an alternative news magazine into a dominant presence, and to work every day towards the ultimate goal of rendering the mainstream television news media as irrelevant as infomercials. The stuff we report on goes far beyond this Ohio stuff. It is an important story now because January 6th and 20th are right around the corner, but we poerate on many levels.

So that's my plan, and also to do it every day as well as I can. We have millions of readers a month; it is daunting when you think about it. My plan is to do that, and allow that work to have its inevitable effect so long as me and the crew I work with do it right every day.

FWIW, I've been saying "We got fucked" since about 9pm EST on December 12, 2000.

7. Do you feel better for venting? No, you can't always get what you want.
We've got to look at the short term and long term. I believe that there is a STRONG chance that the Electoral Vote may get challenged and Kerry may be Inaugurated. I won't give up that fight until the fight is over! But, I also know that we may lose that fight. And, ultimately, we're fighting for Democracy!

Kerry winning would be the best scenario! But if we need a Plan B....

8. I just this minute finished telling my husband the whole day's events
regarding the motion. At the end, I said, "Ya know, I think this is HUGE. They want to impound the machines and the ballots. It may also send a clear message to some senators to get off their asses on Jan. 6th."

I don't know that a senator standing on Jan. 6th gets us anything relating to Kerry, but it'll bust open the issue of a filthy election.

So I'm real sorry that you are disappointed, in the week and a half that you've been here, that your expectations have not been met(?), but I think some very serious work is going on, and will continue.

It really is not about the donkey, it is about fucking clean elections.

10. I'd like to be sympathetic, but
Waah! Think Lech Walensa, Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King and so on. This isn't a sitcom or a soap opera (though it resembles both sometimes) and it isn't going to resolve easily or quickly. I know it's only been 7 weeks but I think you might be falling behind a little on your grief process work here.

Yes, we were fucked, without lube, in the ass. It is still happening. So, how do we make it better? By getting away from the computer and getting active, whatever that means for each of us.

I've chosen to do grassroots media work (that translates to highway blogging and redecorating local art installations with election fraud info), writing to my worthless senators and my not so worthless representative, researching blue companies and then voting with my pocketbook and I'm going to Washington DC on January 20th to be a part of the anti-inauguration and I will be going to the Wellstone activism training and......You see?

Yeah, we were fucked. Now, it's time to kick some ass! Don't get stuck in the depression stage of grief.

9. Since you live in OH
have you joined the CASE-OH yahoogroup, or gotten involved in some other frontline action? Because, from what I infer from your post, you haven't. I may be wrong about this. But if I am not, please, from a spirit of charitable concern, let me recommend to you to go out and get involved on the front lines. You can do this, since you live there, and it will do wonders for your morale.

go to YahooGroups and find CASE-OH. True American patriots.

13. Can someone tell me what this post is about? Did I miss something?
Isn't what happened today a very good thing, and isn't it still possible we can prove fraud in Ohio? Did something happen since Kerry filed in court today that I missed?

14. You gotta realize that Kerry isn't Howard Stern
or Ralph Nader or some other media blowhard. He's an attorney for one thing and for another still holds an elected office. He represents the people of Massachussetts in the Senate, so he can't just hop on a TV chat show and start spouting all the latest rumors. He's responsible for actually governing the country and unlike Dumbya he takes his job seriously.

15. Here is some info for the Columbus Rally on the 3rd

I think many of the threads tonight are important... the type of situation we have found our country in will not be solved merely by Kerry getting on TV and saying "there was fraud" -- it has to be more planned than that -- and the Mainstream Media and our Senators and Representatives have to know that We Are Irked!

so... do we curl up in a ball and go back to sleep under the warm covers and hope to wake up in ten years and things are back to normal, or do we do something *now* that starts to wake up those who have already been sleeping for the past few years?

Nice post. As someone said elsewhere, we've been getting screwed for so long, we're bound to win one soon, as long as we don't give up. Now about my cousin in Youngstown...

19. how can you support John Kerry in 2008?
I'm sorry, after this dismally weak behavior I want someone else in 2008.

He sold out. He caved in after 12 hours, some of the vote counting wasn't finished. Even his running mate was shocked.

Bad choice in 2004, the worst one in 2008.
