All of us here have been waiting for a hero, a real leader! |
|
I am so disappointed in the overwhelming silence. Even with Conyers and Jackson speaking out, where are the rest of them? I keep thinking there must be a plan in the works, but I just don't know. We hear bits and pieces of encouragement from week to week, when is it all gonna hit the fan? I'm running out of patience and hope, please tell me I am wrong. I know Watergate didn't happen overnight, but I just wish this would. Sorry...just had to vent. Where the heck is our outspoken MM? I need to believe, like all of you I'm sure, that this is going to come together, cuz we know we were robbed. THAT I HAVE NO DOUBT ABOUT. Even with the new development of K/E backing the Green Party efforts, I just have to ask, KERRY/EDWARDS WHERE R U? It's not enough, we need to hear from you!

I was disappointed in their leadership DURING the campaign on issues that differentiate us from republicans; the war in Iraq, REAL "moral values", and the growth and strengthening of our economy and democracy. I certainly don't expect any leadership now that the pressure is off.
I'd love to be wrong and they're sitting on some critical info that will blow the lid off the 2004 election, but my instinct says that's not realistic thinking.

7. There was no "hero" of Watergate, just villians, will be the same here |

If there was a single leader that was all important to the cause would be too easy for the Bush Mafia to take him/her out. WE dont want assassinations. We want indictments.

But today Bernstein is sunk in obscurity, and Woodward is kissing Republican ass.

It may seem easier when there is some major charismatic leader in a movement, but this is a struggle and it is going to take a lot of individuals who take initiative and who don't need to be told what to do.

12. they are elected to be our voices..no? |

Where are our representative? Why the silence? I am stunned by all of this. I thought originally that our reps were silent because they were maybe not aware of all of the evidence (F911--no one read the Patriot Act). I find that excuse hard to swallow now with all of the emails and petitions I alone have signed (many of you have me beat in this area by miles).
I'm beginning to think that what went on in this election is the norm, and through all of the digging being done by the incredibly talented people on DU and elsewhere, we are just finding out an ugly truth. The only REAL elections that take place in the US are the ones that are deemed harmless or necessary by the powers that be.

13. Why not hold Bush**, Cheney**, the Radical RW, and the Corporate Media... |
|
...responsible for all of that?? Why hold OUR leaders responsible when anyone who's been around here for any time knows THEY ARE WORKING FOR US BUT AREN'T GIVEN A PLATFORM?? WHY do we sit around and piss and moan at OUR people INSTEAD OF HAMMERING THE REAL ENEMIES???
Just wondering. :hi:

"Our" voice? Which "we"?
If most people believe there is no fraud, then do they represent the majority or the minority.
They can't be the voice for every issue. When Kerry spoke up about Iraq, someone would say "why isn't he talking about the economy." He'd talk about the economy, then someone would say "Why isn't he talking about the environment" and so on.
As it is, they are there. Sorry they're not being more entertaining, but they are there.
This discussion in general reminds me of the Three Stooges:
"Hey, Moe!! Help! I can't see! I can't see!"
"Whatsa mattah!"
"I got my eyes closed."
Stoink!

14. Its not all about them - its all about us |

We don't need the media to legitimate our concerns, and we don't need politicians. If no leader steps forward, one will arise from among us. We have the truth on our side, not to mention the law.
"The future will belong to those who have passion, and to those who are willing to make the personal commitment to make our country better." Paul Wellstone
