Republican playbook in action. It's not over in Washington St.
Dino Rossi HAS NOT CONCEDED AND WILL NOT DO IT UNTIL HE IS TOLD THAT HE HAS NO OTHER OPTION.

That's the way they (Republicans) work. Same message, same language, no doubters or people breaking ranks at the first sight of "conflict."

A lesson to be learned...

2. They are so arrogant and ungracious, the Repukes
but so quick to accuse Dems of being sore losers.

3. Sorry, but gotta be consistent
If we think it is OK to get the courts involved in OH, NM, etc. Then it is OK for the repukes to get the court involved in WA state.

The election court genie was let loose in 2000, will be with us forever.

9. Democrats want to count the Votes, Repugs want to count the
illegal votes.

11. I agree, but think about it this way....
Edited on Tue Dec-28-04 04:00 PM by femme.democratique
Gregoire won after the THIRD freakin recount! During the first two, Rossi had plenty of opportunity to investigate, discover, and demand the counting of similar ballots in more Repuke-heavy areas. He didn't, and one must wonder WHY??? Just because he is a rich lazy Repuke mofo? He only has himself to blame, maybe if he had used tactics that had actually displayed that he cared about the legitimacy of the vote since the very beginning of this process then he'd have been (legitimately) declared winner.

Let them keep counting, they'll only draw more attention to the vote issue in general.

14. Yeah, shine a light on this one
"keep counting til you win", "mischief", "sore losers"--all repuke charges but they always get away with the hypocrisy.

I would like to know how they will recount differently to get the desired result. Will machines be retabulated, for instance?

16. Legally, I don't think they can "recount" again....
Someone on DU had posted that there is a legal limit on the number of recounts in WA state - I think their options lie solely in the courts, and that they will argue that were similar cirumstances as there were in King County.

12. Consistency?
These are the same Republicans who faught AGAINST getting the courts involved in reviewing previously rejected ballots. Why should we let their hypocrocy go unchecked by the media?

I never thought Kerry should have conceded. We all knew b*#* wouldn't if he lost. I am getting tired of taking the higher road with these guys. they count on it, just like with Al gore. Not this time!

6. Gotta give them credit -- their candidate has stayed in for the
duration! Regardless of how much people try to spin Kerry's quick concession and his lackadaisical support of the election fraud investigation, we all know that the we'd have a much stronger case had he stayed in and LED THE FIGHT!

No I'm not whining -- I know it's in the past and can't be undone, but to quote the Lion King -- it still hurts!

7. They tried everything they could not to count votes now because
she won anyway they want to take a different path, they are sore losers oh right, just trying new ways to get around it all, they only what to win. They do not care that the election after 3 counts was given to another more deserving person, now they plot to steal it again in a different way, that is what they are about and never forget it either.

13. It won't be over for a long time
Re-read the Atlantic Monthly article about Rove and the Alabama Chief Justice race that he was involved in. The Dem won, and the Repugs fought in courts and in the media for a year and a half and all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court until the Repug was finally declared the winner. It was dirty in the extreme, and the right-wing media was there all the way claiming the Dems had committed election fraud.

There is no way the Repugs will give this one up.

15. Time to write to the Seattle newspaper
and call Rossi a "sore loser". Be first in the name-calling.
