4,000 votes mistakenly added to GWB total in Ohio

Below is a link to the official results for Franklin County (Columbus and environs). Scroll to page 34 and look at the line for a precinct labeled "GAHANNA 1-B" ... you'll notice an incredible number for Bush.

The number is repeated in the aggregate district totals on page 37 for GAHANNA 1.

5. I work in Gahanna.
And it's the one area of Franklin County where I've seen more Bush signs than Kerry signs. Still, that's an outrageous figure, especially when you scroll over to the precinct total and see it's only 638.

WHich of the counties was EVote vs other methods? That helps.

If the no votes for President come from EMachines it makes them more suspect IMO.

10. STEALING THIS ELECTION WAS NO MISTAKE!
They planned to steal the election, some people were smart and informed to notice their criminal activities, but then they went right ahead and stole it anyway!

The only question now is what we are going to do to bring these criminal ant-Democratic element to Justice. If we don't bring them to Justice, they will just steal every election from now on and make an empty farce of Democracy as they bleed the country dry.

32. my idea
stop voting. How many more elections of "it's your civic duty" and "people died for your right to vote" and "vote or dont complain" and "every vote counts" peer pressuring to get people to vote so politicians can say "the people have spoken", and then do whatever they want even if it is against the wishes of the electorate.

People would rather line up like sheep and pretend they have a say in shit because they are free to buy DVD's and have their money stolen from them to kill people, while the country falls apart around them. If you are told over and over how free you are and how we have the most freedom and best contry in the world that doesn't make it so.

People need to look at what they're getting, not at what they are told they are getting.

19. That's a great idea!
We need to direct our feelings right now toward a constructive purpose. Anyone want to take the initiative to partition this document into reasonable portions and assign them randomly to DU volunteers? It would be best to use long-time DUers we trust and maybe have them double up to make sure nothing slips through.

Wish I could help but I have my hands full right now.

from the .pdf into a Word document. Save it as Ascii text. Then open the document in Excel and indicate that the cells are delimited by spaces. I got it to open up with all the columns in the proper order, etc. The only thing that get's messed up are the headers, but those can be typed in easily enough. Hope this helps!

I find it interesting that there were
665334 Total Ballots cast but only
652381 Presidential Ballots cast.

11,286 people stood in long lines in the rain to NOT Vote for the next President?
That seems a bit high to me!

Can not find detailed precinct report on-line-maybe someone can help.

34. Ohio Board of Elections website address & Stark County totals
Edited on Fri Nov-05-04 12:10 AM by Mabus
http://www.sos.state.oh.us/sos/boe/index.html

Not every county has a website.
Not every county gives information per precinct.

Have at it.

Here the results for Stark County (also posted same information on the other thread at http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=203&topic_id=21053&mesg_id=21053&page=)

website http://www.boe.co.stark.oh.us

There were 183,014 votes tallied out of 186,856 ballots cast for presidential candidates.
This means that there were a total in Stark Co. of 3,842 ballots were not marked/counted for any of the presidential candidates.

These figures were arrived at by adding together the total number of Ballots Cast for each ward and then subtracting the actual number of votes counted for all presidential candidates.

For example:
Plain TWP totals:
B/C 10310
K/E 9335
others 86

total # of ballots cast: 20001
total # of votes for all pres. cand: 19731
total # not counted/marked for pres: 270
*******

Overall totals for Presidential ballots counted in Stark Co.)

TOTAL 463(Lib) 89,859(B/C) 92,295(K/E) 397(Peroutka)
REGULAR 421 80,779 83,726 374
ABSENTEE 42 9,080 8,569 23
According to the website http://www.boe.co.stark.oh.us /

There were 183,014 votes tallied out of 186,856 ballots cast for presidential candidates.

35. Siphoning votes
I did research on precinct tallies in some of FL counties in 2000.

We looked for several things before focusing on 1 thing. One was strange patterns of candidate selection. Just glancing at the pdf file for Franklin, I notice * got fewer votes in many precincts than the GOP candidate for House or Senate whereas Kerry rarely got fewer votes than the Dem. Senate or House.

This might be the usual way Franklin county votes, but I thought I'd ask. What I am wondering is if some of Kerry's votes *might* have been siphoned off to show up in the GOP Senate/House candidates.

Just a thought/question.

36. I saw something different for most of the counties I looked over
Edited on Fri Nov-05-04 02:37 AM by desert
Kerry got more votes than the Dems for House and Senate, while the Rep House and Senate candidates got more than Bush and Kerry. I was thinking this might be suggestive that those races the Dem votes could have been siphoned off to the Repubs, but another poster said in Ohio Voinovich was popular and this might not be a significant shift.

Example:

Columbus 57
Pg 36
3872 Kerry
2545 Fingerhut
2751 Brown

4027 Bush
4894 Voinovich
4205 Pryce

7945 president
6956 House
7439 Senate

Total precinct public count 8031
86 didn’t vote for president

Corrected: sorry, typed Voinovich in the Dem column instead of Brown, which I just fixed.

42.  errors in my thinking. ignore this post. Sorry.
Edited on Fri Nov-05-04 04:02 AM by Lil
addendum to addendum. I think I see the error of my thinking. These counties share the congressional distric with Franklin so the totals below won't be significant of anything. Probably just ignore this post.

addendum:
edited to ask if these are Franklin County Wards? They are at the bottom of the Ward Recap" page but have only votes in Congressoinal category which could explain the differencees I mention below.

--------------- Dem --------GOP
DEL CO --------17,628------ 56,978
LICK CO--------13,818-------34,093
MAD CO---------4,390-------11,417
UNION CO-------5,312-------15,452
-----------------------------
total --------41,148-----117,940

edit: I wonder where the President/Senate race tallies are for DEL, LICK, MAD and UNION. They are in the pdf document for some proposals.

=========================================
======================================
Franklin Co. totals:

Bush 234,196
Kerry 275,573

Fingerhut----- Voinovich
193,051 ------- 286,459

House (3 districts)
Dem------------ GOP
16,498-------- 16,743
118,537 ---------194,246
107,622 ---------162,155
------------------------
242,657 --------358,074

Does this seem odd to anyone else:

- The GOP congressional races got 151K more votes than * - why would someone go to polls in this election and not vote for President? Siphoned from Kerry?

- Dem + GOP congressional races = 600,741 votes

- Bush + Kerry = 509769 votes

- Dem + GOP senate = 479,510 votes

edited to ask:
DEL CO --------17628------ 56978
LICK CO---------13818-----34093
MAD CO---------4390------ 11417
UNION CO------- 5312----- 15452
