And lay the groundwork for getting a medical pass on the grounds of depression . Here are some things you could tell your doctor ; you feel down all the time and can't stop crying , initially you thought it was just because of the election , but two weeks later you feel no better , the slightest thing can set your crying off and you feel like you are losing control because you don't know when its going to happen , you feel that everything is pointless and hopeless , you usually plan your holiday at this time of year , but you can't motivate yourself to organise it , you have lost all your energy and can't be bothered to do anything as it all takes too much effort , you don't like going out and only feel safe when you are at home , you have lost your appetite (or can't stop eating -pick one) , you have lost all interest in sex , and so on .
You want to set the groundwork early , before there is any whiff of a draft , so your doctor can say your depression started well before the draft and that it is not just an excuse . Oh and BTW , when you go to the doctor , don't tell him you have depression , let him/her 'diagnose' it .
There is no way , in this day and age , that anyone should be drafted , but if this does come to pass , those who voted for Bush , should be first to 'go over the top'.
