Aparently, it's OK for the GOP - never for us, but OK for them, even after a complete RECOUNT.

4. And that's exactly what I was getting at. NC got one - but only for
secretary of Ag. Florida got a recont - but only for a gambling amendment...The rule of law is might selective....

5. No way
They had a vote. If there are uncounted ballots, I'd have no objection to counting them. But definitely no revote. That's not how we do things here.

7. The Republicans don't like the result.....................
so they'll want to keep voting until they get the results they want. It's alright for Republicans to do that. There must be a HUGE mistake when god's appointed party loses.
NO, they should not get a re-vote. It's over, get over it. It seems I've heard that somewhere before, not sure when though. :eyes:

15. exactly my thought...
wonder how the supreme court would vote on this... or would they hail to their little statement in that case that the case should never be used as precedent (which is telling, given that is the ROLE of the supreme court...)

9. Absolutely not!
Republicans (the smart few)should join a collective call for meaningful election reform, transparency and no privitization of democracy. The repbublicans want to be selective in legal application and it would behoove everyone to work with a collective process so no one is disenfranchised.

11. If the Rethugs want to agree to a revote in Ohio...................
without all the fraud, voter suppression, etc., then fine. If not, they need to live with Washington!

14. Objectively...
Objectively, they should be granted a re-vote, because Gregoire would end up winning again in a fair election. However, I cannot help but recall a little state called Ohio and another one called Florida. If Democrats were calling for a re-vote we know that the Republicans would never go for it. And while this is not objective opinion, it is an opinion that I feel many here would agree with. Simply put, if the shoe was on the other foot, they'd tell us to get over it. It's about time that we start playing the game the way the Republicans play it -- ruthlessly. So, to hell with objectiveness in light of the past...

Quite simply, NO, there should be no re-vote because the lousy bastards won't be reasonable about states with actual problems -- namely Ohio. The Republicans in Washington state should be told in no uncertain terms, "Not no, but HELL NO." They ought to go fuck themselves for their behavior in 2000, 2002, and now in 2004. Tell them what they keep telling us, "Get over it!"

However, I do have a grudging respect for their leadership, since they will at least stand up and fight for what they believe in -- not roll over and give in to the opposition and their media whores. We could stand to take that tactic and add it to our own book.

17. Yes
but not for the governor ticket. They should have a revote as part of a national revote for the president ticket, (minus vote suppression, emachine screwups etc).

18. NO DO-OVERS!
Every 6 year old knows that! Too bad the Washington Governor's race was not between two 6 year olds.

It was a very close race, but Gregoire won, under the rules in place on Election Day.

Time for Rossi to move on.

I don't turn the other cheek.
