Is there any way to find out if my own voted counted?
I just read that some Iowa absentee ballots were never counted.

More disturbing, I also read that some who voted in the Dem primaries are on record as voting for Repugs.

I voted early. In effect, it was an absentee ballot.

How can I tell if my vote actually did count?

Has anyone else followed up to ensure that their vote counted, and that their voted counted for the person they cast their ballots?

It's so sad that we have to think about this stuff!

1. No!
This is America!

How do you "like" it?

2. I don't like it...
I thought voting behavior was public record.

I've often heard quotes such as, "Records indicate he voted in the last three elections..."

Maybe that was on "Wag the Dog" or something...

America...where are ya?

3. you want records kept of who voted for whom?
I don't think that would be legal, it would violate the secret ballot concept.

5. Here in Michigan, it is perfectly legal.
Our ballot numbers are written right next to our names when we take our ballots. I've watched them do this in every election - in Michigan, you vote IN SECRET, but who you vote for is a matter of public record. I never tried to find out if it was actually counted, or not.

6. I called our Sec of State's office...
I was told that there is no way of knowing if my vote counted. I was also told that there is no documentation that would indicate for whom I voted.

No paper trail.
