This is just plain SAD
this morning I started sending out emails about the election. I make sure I always send them to the "land that time forgot" - that little town where I grew up - just northeast of Columbus, Ohio. This is part of a discussion I had going on with someone back there..

I had just emailed her that we were attacked under his watch...

"He just took over the watch and NO ONE ever thought they would get us at home.He wasn't too busy we were all naive and could not imagine this would ever happen. Remember Osamma Hussein wanted him out of office more than you did. He doesn't like the fact that he is standing firm that we will not be intimidated, threatened into backing off so he and the terrorist can do there thing again. As far as the rest of the issues, he is just President of our country, sworn to defend it. The rest of us really run the country, make the rules, run the businesses, pay or fire employees, close up shop if we don't make a living out of it and make the laws locally and state wide. If the President could have control over everything you say they did we would have a dictatorship. Now, I am done with politics. It is not my thing. Oh, by the way. There was a large cook-out at friends last week, about 65 people attended. A fun little poll was taken around the bonfire on who was going to vote for who. Bush had 57 votes and Kerry had 8. We were just a sample. Columbus and Franklin County Kerry actually won. Lets talk about important things like your health. later.....xxxx"

1. I think people should be required to answer at least 5 verbal
essay questions on pertinent issues before being allowed to vote.

I won't require written answers because some people do have issues with literacy, but are still informed enough to give real answers.

People should be required to be informed before being allowed to vote. Screw it, I don't care if it's discriminatory.

2. You would eliminate 99.9% of the Bush supporters
You would have to include at least one question on NASCAR just to give them a chance.

You couldn't ask anything about the Bible, none of them have actually read it.

7. Like I said, I DON'T CARE!
If you are uninformed and can not grasp facts surrounding the issues, you should not have a say in them.

11. Sure they do,
but a test on basic issues would encourage them to actually go read up on the issues. There's nothing wrong with that, and it's not hard to do.
