Still Missing the Big Picture About This Election
by galiel
Wed Nov 3rd, 2004 at 06:23:59 PST

This is not about Republicans or Democrats.
This is not about the war.
This is not about the economy.
This is not even about counting the votes.

This is the final step in the 20-year creeping coup by the theocrats, the Dominionists.

In the House and the Senate, the theocrats made dramatic advances, far beyond the number of seats that switched parties. On the GOP side, they have replaced moderates with zealots, and have significantly strengthened the support for the main theocrat bills that will be reintroduced in the new Congress.

You can hear it in the media's codewords: this election did NOT turn on Iraq or the economy or security, it turned on "moral values", the politically correct code-word for theocratic values, i.e., placing one's religion above the laws of man. Exit polls show that "moral values" were the most common #1 concern among voters, and that among those who marked "moral values" as their primary concern, 80% voted for Bush. Every state that had a same-sex marriage ban up for decision voted the theocrat way.

Diaries :: galiel's diary ::

When analysis of local races around the nation becomes available, it will become clear that theocrats have advanced everywhere, gaining control of even more school boards, gaining even more representation in city councils, winning even more seats in state legislatures.

Make no mistake, this election was the keystone of the theocrat coup. All that is left now is carrying out the agenda and changing the laws of this nation irrevocably to gut the Bill of Rights and establish a Dominionist government in America.

Read 'em and weep

9. If you believe in "spakeths" ...ummm.... He *pointing upward*
"told" me last election that ** would get us into the worst war we'd ever seen.

And no, Iraq doesn't feel like it fulfilled that.

11. I doubt it
The country isn't really as divided and hostile as the Internet and college campuses would seem to indicate. As long as the middle class has doesn't have it too badly, there won't be enough pissed-off people to start a real opposition to the government.

Remember, people... This election is nothing new. People like to scream about how the level of negative attacks between candidates is historical and the division within the country is massive, but I doubt either claim is really true. The former claim is easily rebutted by looking at any of the presidential ads in the past half-century (http://livingroomcandidate.movingimage.us/index.php)...

As for the latter, I certainly can't produce statistics to back it up, but I just have to speak to my experience. The fact is, this country is only divided if we decide to let it be.

2. These guys are real
I worked for one for about 10 years.....whenever we had a realaignment of sales districts (which was often), it would be reported in terms of "X has Dominion over territory Y" It was even the password to the sales histories on the computer for a while.

4. Well Oregon still voted for Kerry and kept David Wu and Wyden and
Blumenauer, and voted no on lawyer reform and still voted against marriage for gays.

I'll keep saying this. Of course, Oregon has a split/red/blue state and the Blue has the majority population.

Is the majority of the population that votes in this country fundie?

That's what you are telling me. Still the majority of the actual population-read NYC, Calif, Chicago, etc. isn't. (They aren't voting in high enough numbers)

We have the population. Something is wrong if the minority population is winning...like say rigged numbers. Or the passion to vote-which seems to be the main theory here. They were so fired up to ban marriage and that's what kept Bush in.

You may be right, however, which is what the majority seem to think on DU.

I'm not convinced.

5. Paranoia
Not saying it isn't a problem, but this kind of movement just isn't sustainable.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely; even the Red States will see this during the next 4 years and vote the bums out.

7. How will they get voted out if they control the votes?
Are you getting it yet? If you keep thinking about normal behavior, that these are people who are playing by the rules as we know them, well, you'll get what you deserve. Sometimes it's not paranoia. Sometimes things are really that fucked up.

6. I am so relieved ...
I have been aware of the Dominionist agenda for a couple of years now. It has been so subtle and covert that talking about it just earned me scorn and disbelief from some people.

Even with the Yurica report, people found it hard to believe that such a movement could exist and manage to co-op/usurp the Republican Party. Now that it has gone over the 50% mark, they will see this election as a green light to forge ahead.

Their ultimate goal, and mark my words, is to replace Democracy with Biblical, Old Testament, Mosaic law. That would be an American Taliban.

I am not suggesting that this is either viable in the long-run, or that it will be certain succeed. However, people might want to get over shock and denial and start facing this front and recognizing the sedition and treason within the Religious Right and their intentions for America.

There is a very clear and strong division now in the culture war. The battle lines have been drawn, but the Left has been slow to see them.

Now that the Radical, Religious Right-wing has its referendum firmly in place, we are going to see these issues dramatically expand and the sparks are going to fly. This is going to effect everyone in the country in various ways.

Keep your eyes and ears tuned on the Dominionists ore you won't see it coming. Without a strong, unified opposition early on, they will gain far too much ground, as they already have. There is no concrete anit-Theocracy movement yet, but that's the essence of where we are going.

14. This is timly and important and we need to alert as
many people as possible. The Bush administration is posed to assest the implementation of this theology. Very important. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
