A question from my 11 year old nephew I will never ever forget |
|
Hey Uncle Johnny...
How come our country can put a man on the moon but we can't have an accurate, fair election?
The logic is inescapable.

I'm sure this came out of the blue, but just wondering if issues were being discussed around him.
BTW: Kudos to him!

My nephew has heard me discussing the vote fiasco with my family. I have to admit, the kid is very logical. He is a problem solver. Then, out of the blue, he shakes his head and asked me the question about us being able to land a man on the moon but can't figure out how to tally a nation's vote.

all year long, all these states can sell and track lottery tickets, and figure out the winning number - apparently without any of these "glitches".
Can you imagine the headlines? Computer Glitch Falsely Awards $38 Million Lottery
on edit: I guess if it was a "Glitch" then it would be awarded to Shrub, since that's what all computer glitches do.

why the other kids in kindergarten believe in Santa. I told her that that's what their parents taught them.
When they're young and impressionable, they'll believe anything that older people that they respect tell them.
That is to say, if you thought Bush was just the greatest, so would he. It takes time to discover who you are politically.
