2. LOL... my alma mater's colors are orange and white |
|
Tennessee MAY be a red state, but we have Triad machines, so who knows? I know the city of Knoxville went blue, even if the county of Knox went red. :)
If it helps any, UT is kicking Texas A&M's ass in the Cotton Bowl (35 to 0), so maybe 2005 IS the "orange" year.
Seriously, if anyone needs tons of orange to wear - I've got it. ;)

|
Not that it's important, but do you know what it says above the Discover logo?

9. But if this is a Discover Card promotion, what is this really saying.? |
|
Edited on Sat Jan-01-05 02:11 PM by saracat
I think this is a bit misleading. Do any of those people even know what orange represents? Does Master Charge?

12. So we're supposed to ignore the fact that this was a Discover promo.... |
|
.... and pretend that all these people were protesting the election?
Doesn't that seem a little ridiculous?

But it hasn't prevented multiple threads for people to pretend in. No harm is being done, let's pretend they are protesting.

except in the Ukraine pictures. If that's your point, you're correct. There wasn't a credit card promotion going on in the Ukraine.

Like the M sign of McDonalds or the sweeping curve of Nike,
The Orange of Ukraine carries an immediate implicit message for anybody politically aware. And that works in media and the street. It cuts out a lot of explaining.
The reason TAK in Ukraine used this is that they are not dumb. This it is simple, brilliant marketing. It works.
Marketing is part of this too.
We could use their momentum by echoing the Orange?

20. I guess I'm not comfortable being deceptive...(more) |
|
Thanks for being honest about this. I guess I'm just not comfortable going along with it. Afterall, if word spreads that people wore orange in Times Square to protest the election, and then people find out the truth (that it was just a Disocovery Card promo), I tend to think we look stupid.
I guess I would rather have people unify and protest knowlingly and not be used deceptively as pawns.

21. Orange ribbons were popular after the 2000 theft - it symbolised the vote |
|
theft in florida. I like the continuity. And if Discover Card made the mistake of choosing orange as their theme color for the new year, well, I say we work it.
