I'm going to nominate John Conyers

for Michiganian of the Year. The Detroit News has a contest every year where they name a number of people as Michiganians of the Year. Nominations are open until the end of January. I'm going to nominate him for being the first (and only so far) one to stand up and be heard about the election irregularities. If anyone wants info about how to nominate someone, let me know either here or you can PM me.

Here are the instructions. I'm just not sure if you have to live in Michigan to nominate someone.

Write a short letter explaining why your nominee should be considered. Include your name and telephone number, and address letters to 2004 Michiganians, Features, The Detroit News, 615 W. Lafayette Blvd., Detroit, MI 48226. You can also fax submissions to 313-222-2451 or e-mail them to [e-mail]. The deadline is January 31.

I would love to get some responses from others in Michigan. I think I'll post this to the Michigan forum as well.
