Only 31,159 signed petition to contest vote???
...in the entire country? That stinks!! That doesn't even come close to matching the vote margin in just Ohio alone.

9. I'm not a freeper
and I haven't signed the petition. I strongly support investigations into fraud and election reform, but the evidence that the election was stolen has not convinced me. I have no trouble believing that more people voted for bushco than Kerry.

12. If you support investigations into fraud..
Why not sign the petition so that investigations can be done...Raise the public awareness?

17. Actually, I have
and though I see evidence of fraud and vote suppression, I don't to date, see it to the tune of 3.5 million votes and a massive conspiracy and cover up, without one credible whistleblower.

32. How will we know unless we get it investigated!?
Getting a senator to contest is just the first step in making more people aware that their may have been (I believe there was) massive fraud perpetrated in this election.

33. Well, I am most definitely not a freeper and I
have a problem with this (s)election.

First, Gore literally won in 2000. Second, the exit polls clearly shown that Kerry won, third, Blackwell (need I say more), 4th unauditable electronic voting machines, 5th, disgusting voter disenfranchisement.

We either right this wrong, or revolt.

What do you want?

14. 62,000 user registrations since 2001. that number includes the banned.
120,000,000 (120 million) voted
1% of that is 1.2 million
So to get to 1/10 of 1% you need 120,000

26. I can only compare the protests in Columbus Ohio.
The biggest post election protest only drew 400-1000 people. (and the 1000 number is only in there so the more delusional people are happy) Columbus has 1 million people with almost another 500,000 close by.

I would imagine DC will draw in the range of 10,000 and would not be surprised to see closer to 1,003. Reality is a bitch and people have other things on their minds.

Remember when you hear how many people are at any event, pictures don't lie but people counters do.

34. Here's your pep talk...
Edited on Sat Jan-01-05 10:43 PM by TwoSparkles
...Hi there!

I'm a 40 year old, stay-at-home-mom. I've never defined myself as an activist, nor have I been very politically active. The closest I've ever come to protesting anything--was when I called General Mills' consumer hotline to complain because they forgot to put a Shrek toy in a box of Cheerios that was supposed to include a toy "Puss-In-Boots" watch! My three-year old was very disappointed!

I am coming to DC on 1/6 to protest the fraud. I'm just a stay-at-home
mom from the Midwest, but I found my way here and I understand that Bush stole this election.

If I know, and if hauling myself to DC---perhaps there will be many, many people who show up on 1/6.

I've signed at least 3 of them. Maybe not this particular one, but think this thru.

4. That's right, Molly. I've gotten so many in the last few weeks, I've
started keeping a list so I won't sing twice and discredit the petition!

This is one of many, so take heart.

7. they've also been collecting live signatures
and urge people to download it, and canvess, too. Though that particular petition is now expired as of this morning, isn't it (in terms of gathering signatures).

They had a lot of real signatures, if I remember correctly.

11. Call me jaded but I don't bother signing petitions anymore.
When I first got on-line I signed every petition that I believed in-I actually thought it could make a difference. I now believe that the people in power will do whatever they want, as long as they get away with it. Other (focus groups?)opinions don't matter. It is going to take a lot more than the mere "will of the people."

That surprises me with all the people who have claimed they have been targeted by suppression and fraud.
And only 112 in Cleveland.

20. NY and Cali carried it.
what is up with this. perhaps its like i have been saying we are the only people who actually know about this. on line activists.

its not a good thing that ohio's numbers are so low. i have to wonder what is up with that. Ohio has many groups in yahoo and they circulate these petitions. i signed this one and many more. i dont know if they will help but its the least i can do.

But lets relax, this IS just one of many petitions. i signed one from thedeanpeople.org to the senators and congress.

and then there is the pen. i just dont know if they are keeping track of totals.

lets not worry to much about this. so long as all of us have actually been writing our senate and house members.

I have never ever written a letter to anyone in my life. i hate writing. but this year it has become an almost everyday thing. bitch bitch bitch. i do it constantly. only now i do it to the right people. and at first i felt like a freeper when writing news stations like FOX and MSNBC. but then it felt so good to just get it off my chest!

Its what we have to-its there strategy, it worked for them and now it must work for us.

27. How about the 20 percent of registered voters
who thought it was possible that the election results were fraudulent, according to a Zogby poll? If we take that into consideration, the numbers of people who think that something went amiss on Nov. 2 are in the millions. There are many of us who feel this way - we are not just a small marginalized group of tinfoil hat wearers!

I've done a lot of these petitions and on the ones where you can see the signors, a quarter to a third seem blatantly bogus.

29. This is one of the many problems of us being leaderless
I signed a couple of petitions early on, including the one supposedly for Conyers. Then I heard that Conyers said for people to stop flooding his email. I thought he wanted a million signatures. Another one I started to sign asked things like my income and gender - I decided it was a scam. DU does not appear to vet the petitions and requests for money so I've been very reluctant since then.

I really hope the Dems are doing something behind the scenes - perhaps to avoid riots/civil war. This total lack of leadership and media silence is really trying.

to reach 50,000 before deadline. Good question, I wondered why there wasn't very many signatures.
