Ohio Residents - PLEASE READ
I was watchinh the Andy Griffith Show reuinion tonight and in one scene Gomer runs after Barney shouting: 'Citizens Ar-AY-ust'.

How about a bunch of citizens go to Blackwells office and perform a citizens arrest on his treasonous ass? Do you think the MSM will pick it up? LOL!

7. How about arresting Mitofsky too?
And the voting machine people?

If we have the right to do citizens' arrests, why not press forward and do them?

10. This could also work as "guerrilla theater"
I've thought about this citizen's arrest of Blackwell idea before, maybe even posted on DU about it a few weeks ago. I think it would most likely be successful (AKA bring attention to the cause) if it were set up as an attempt to actually arrest Blackwell but with a fallback plan of staging an arrest of a Blackwell stand-in. Or what if 100 people turned themselves in, claiming to be Blackwell? Spin the possibilities a little bit...

16. Here's a better picture of Hamburg.
He was a Green Party candidate for California Governor, and past Democratic congressman.

He was NOT attempting to arrest Blackwell, he and his wife were trying to give him a letter, and were arrested for trespassing.

17. Funny... when Dan was a congressman,
the media called him the "heart-throb" of Capitol Hill. He was young, and would not wear dress-shirts and suits. He wore a denim shirt and tie.

Here is his bio:

DAN HAMBURG

GREEN CANDIDATE FOR GOVERNOR

Dan Hamburg has been active in northern California politics and community affairs for more than two decades. After graduating from Stanford University in 1970, he moved to Mendocino County where he was a founding member of an alternative school that is now in its 27th year of continuous operation. In 1976, Dan was appointed to the Ukiah City Planning Commission where he served for four years. In 1980, he was elected to the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors. While on the Board, he helped draft the County's first comprehensive General Plan and Coastal Plan. In 1985, Dan and his family traveled to Guangdong Province, China, where they operated a cultural exchange program for six years. He was executive director of North Coast Opportunities (NCO), a community action agency serving Lake and Mendocino counties, from 1986 to 1989. In 1992, Dan was elected to the US Congress from the 1st district of California. While in Congress, he authored the Headwaters Forest Act, a bill that passed the House overwhelmingly. After losing a re-election bid in 1994, he was hired as a political consultant to the newly formed government of South Africa.

Returning to California in 1996, Dan was active in the struggle to preserve the 60,000 acre Headwaters Forest Complex and in the presidential campaign of Ralph Nader. Dan gave one of the presidential nomination speeches on at the Green Party presidential Nomination Convention in Los Angeles.

Dan is currently executive director of VOTE Action Committee, a foundation dedicated to creating a progressive political coalition that can challenge the current two-party "duopoly."

Dan has written articles for several newspapers and magazines (including The Nation, Tikkun, Harper's, Sierra, etc). He appeared frequently on the McNeil-Lehrer News hour and CNN while a member of Congress. Currently he hosts a twice-monthly public affairs radio program that deals with the need to shift political and philosophical perspectives. In addition to his degree in history from Stanford, Dan holds a master's degree in philosophy and religion from the California Institute of Integral Studies. He is a member of the Green Party of California and is the highest-ranking former elected officeholder with either the Democratic or Republican parties to have jumped to the Green Party. Dan lives in the hills just south of Ukiah in Mendocino County. He has been married for 25 years and has four grown children and a grand-daughter.
