"The Taking of Pelham 123" is a 70's movie about a NYC subway train high jacked by some serious gang bangers. There is a scene in the subway control center where a NYPD officer is talking to the subway routing controller. The officer says, "I'm worried those people on the train are going to be killed. What are you going to do about it?" The routing controller turns slowly and says "What do these people expect for 35 cents, to live forever." Tokens only cost 35 cents, its true!

So what do the complainers and flamers expect for anything from electronic activism to the wonderful volunteer work done all across the country -- to get the President they want.

It's a process, not a product. We all have to hang together and recognize that we're not entitled to anything.

We sure as Hell need to have our votes cast and counted fairly. Here is a starting point, a rallying cry. Who in this country would oppose this!

This is a great place. We're past the 36 hour 'free lamentation period.' Let's hang together, expand our DU and other base and start kicking some ass. We can let it all hang out and have a real shot at some results in 2006 or maybe before.

Corporate America controls the media and we get manufactured news.
Corporate America now controls the voting machines and we get manufactured elections.

how to organize best. Mayor Daly's criticism today can only help to drive us harder to work a better ground game. I don't have a link of his press conference today, but I made a few notes earlier.

5. We weren't even close to what we could be. Even if we were
Edited on Thu Nov-04-04 10:09 PM by autorank
does that mean we just give up because "We want our Maypo and we want it now." This isn't "instant-on" -- you know, the TV comes on instantly when you flip a switch. Look at history for the commitment it takes to make the long trek. Try reading "The Polynesian War" -- the Athenians had it seriously bad for years. Their experience survives today and is the basis for the very best in many cultures.

It sucks but the lamentation period is over. People need to take a break and do a gut-check on how committed they are. I'm sure most everybody will find somebody else to work as hard as they did (someone who wasn't even involved this time).

11. Sadly no.
Their goal is the total annihilation of anything liberal/left/moderate. See those blue spots at the extremities of the map? They'll go for it next.
