3. One of the Good Guys
He always struck me as a gentleman. Quiet, composed and intelligent and could still skewer an opponent when need. He will be missed especially for his work on Social Security and it's protection.

4. also concerned about Election fraud
......While HAVA was an important step, I recognize that the work of strengthening our democratic system is not finished. That is why I became a co-sponsor of H.R. 2239, the Voter Confidence and Increased Accessibility Act introduced by Representative Rush Holt, which would require that all voting systems produce a voter-verified paper record for use in manual audits in order to ensure accuracy. While H.R. 2239 was not acted upon in the 108th Congress, I will continue to support it if it is reconsidered in the 109th. Please be assured that I will continue to do everything I can to ensure a fair and accurate election process.

Again, I want to thank you for sharing your concerns with me about our election system. If I can be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact my office.

From the office of Robert T. Matsui
