KERRY: 'I'm Going to Learn'
By Evan Thomas
Newsweek

Jan. 10 issue - It was a little after 7 p.m. on election night 2004. The network exit polls showed John Kerry leading George Bush in both Florida and Ohio by three points. Kerry's aides were confident that the Democratic candidate would carry these key swings states; Bush had not broken 48 percent in Kerry's recent tracking polls. The aides were a little hesitant to interrupt Kerry as he was fielding satellite TV interviews in a last get-out-the-vote push. Still, the 7 o'clock exit polls were considered to be reasonably reliable. Time to tell the candidate the good news.

Kerry had slept only two hours the night before. He was sitting in a small hotel room at the Westin Copley (in a small irony of history, next door to the hotel where his grandfather, a boom-and-bust businessman, shot himself some 80 years ago). Bob Shrum, Kerry's friend and close adviser, couldn't resist the moment. "May I be the first to say 'Mr. President'?" said Shrum.

5. Here we go again, this is the 3rd thread on this newsweek article
and please notice the INTERVIEW WAS GIVEN ON NOVEMBER 11, 2004.

Old interview, old news, but purpose of release now is very suspect. Could they be trying to dishearten the Kerry supporters and just begin another flip/flop assault?

"Kerry has not given any formal interviews since his defeat. But on Nov. 11, nine days after the election, Kerry summoned a NEWSWEEK reporter to his house on Boston's fashionable Louisberg Square. He wanted to complain about NEWSWEEK's election issue, which he said was unduly harsh and gossipy about him, his staff and his wife. (The 45,000-word article, the product of a yearlong reporting project, is being published next week as a book, "Election 2004," by PublicAffairs.)"

Insurgents from another world, far, far away (in terms of ideology) have come to our world prepared with their bombs of wisdom strapped to their chests in an effort to begin a flame war. Their goal is to dishearten loyal DUers and to stop their efforts to pursue the election fraud issues. At the same time they know that they will probably be taken down and tombstoned; however, they are willing to go down with the thread and as many DUers as they can take with them. Afterall, it is the cause that matters, "cause they thinks they is so smert!"

Edit because of very obvious typo!

8. I'm beginning to believe the unwillingness to talk about fraud
is tacit approval for it, i.e. they do it, we do it, we all do it.

I don't know what else to think. He couldn't be so removed from reality could he? Naive? Uninformed?

What are they thinking???

17. Really! It's clear the article is timed to try and discredit the man once
again, and just before the fertilizer is set to hit the rotating metal blades. What are they hiding?

15. I have a tendency to I agree with you
Nothing else makes much sense. What could possibly be so wrong in speaking out against something so apparent and so important. It goggles the mind.

13. John Kerry got fucked by the Nevada State Dems
it was disgusting. They set him up for failure due to their own ignorance about the issues of the people on the ground. I watched it. It was pathetic to watch and you can't believe the ignorance of the NV state party fools and the Kerry campaign fools they brought in for Kerry. It was a joke ....cuz the Repukes were so well strategized in their dirty deeds. They not only smeared Kerry in Nevada but they also finnagled several voter registration schemes and election fraud schemes that will be with Nevada for years and years to come.

16. Now comes the long bush smear - just like they did Gore.
They will try to make Kerry a joke.
Kerry did something no bush can forgive, he beat him. Bad. Just like Gore, just like Clinton. For them, the campaign is never over.
