Who else got a call from Anton Chaitkin?
Edited on Sun Jan-02-05 06:20 PM by clydefrand
I got a call from the above person today. He started his conversation by asking for either my husband or me and that he noticed that I had signed an online petition to get rid of Bush.

He was very, very chatty and wanted to send me materials. He said that he was the "historian" for La Rouche's magazine.

Just wondering why he called me and if he called anyone else on DU since this is the only place that I have signed an online petition.

5. Yes, I just edited my post. I heard a "p" instead of a "t" in his
name. I don't why he called and talked so long. I asked where he was calling from. He said Leesburg, near DC. But why on earth did he call me?

7. If you gave him an address, I hope it was only a PO Box...
Next thing you know, he'll be at the door wearing nothing but Saran Wrap:)

10. Well, he already had my address. ????
Looking forward to seeing a man wrapped in Saran Wrap! Can't wait!

Hey! At my ripe old age, I think my heart can stand it, but if it can't, what the hell! I've never seen anyone in Saran Wrap except me when I try to tear the damn stuff off the roll! And that ain't a pretty sight! :-)

A man walks into a shrinks office wearing nothing but saran wrap.
The shrink sez: I can clearly see you're nuts.

13. The entire book can be downloaded at that site,
in HTML format. (I just did). Bearing in mind that the LaRouche gang is beyond doubt cultists, it would be a mistake to assume that they're all deliberate liars. Probably LaRouche and a few of his henchmen are, but the rest are mainly people who are obsessed with something, and have done intensive research. (That might be as fair description of many of us here at DU). Their "contrived" conclusions may be waaaaay off, but their research is well worth mining.

6. I don't recall. There were posts on here, DU, that had the link
that encouraged signing the petition to get rid of Bush.

15. I kinda like this guy, he gave the fundies/promisekeepers a work over
here and the reference to training in "religious terrorism" is freaking weird!!!!

http://www.davidicke.net/religiousfrauds/pentecostal/pkeepers.html

snip...

These days, when an army of men stands in a football stadium, or on the Washington mall, chanting Jesus slogans, weeping, each man hugging the next man and purging his sin in front of a giant video altar, they are in general unaware of who it is that has amassed this army and brought them there.

The Promise Keepers cult is an American-based project of "utopian" military and related religious and political operatives, associated with British imperial strategy and the George Bush machine. We will detail here some of the key personnel,. and the New Age sexual brainwashing they used to manufacture the movement

This exposure is essential, because the project has been consistently boosted by the "mainstream" media with no investigative journalism to find out what was really going on. ABC News anointed Promise Keepers founder/front-man Bill McCartney, a former University of Colorado football coach, as their "Person of the Week" in February 1996. The Eastern Establishment press lavishly promoted the October 1997 rally in Washington. D.C., ending with a cover story in Time magazine. Press coverage of criticism from feminists, lesbians, and atheists only served to promote the project.

The Promise Keepers experiment was begun on 70 Colorado men in 1990. About 4000 turned out to rallies in 1991. As attendance grew to 22,000 in 1992, the project leaders arranged for the writing of a bizarre book intended to mold the emotions and self-conception of their now-growing mass following. Masculine Journey was written for the Promise Keepers by Lt Col. Robert Hicks, a military expert in religious terrorism. It was published in 1993 under the supervision of Hicks's Air Force colleague, Gen. Jerry White. a specialist in military mobilization, military police, and electronic security. General White is the longtime chairman of a military ministry group, "The Navigators." whose NaviPress published the book, and a companion study guide for Promise Keepers (PK) psychological trainers.

16. I've met his daughter. She's really nice.
Edited on Sun Jan-02-05 07:33 PM by genius
Aside from their leader's not having a chance of winning, his daughter (who's name I can't remember) and the others I've seen from that organization seem like very intelligent, well-informed people. They were strong Clinton supporters. But they felt Kucinich was the best of the candidates other than their own. They backed Kerry after he got the nomination. They didn't like Dean.

18. I've communicated some on the Net with Tarpley
--his co-author of _The Unauthorized Biography of George Bush_, the book that can be downloaded at the Site you've listed.

He was very kind to me when my father died.

He's associated with LaRouche, but both Chaitkin and Tarpley have active intellects and their own ideas about things.

Chaitkin also wrote a book called _Treason in America: From Aaron Burr to Averell Harriman_. It has quite detailed appendices about some of the wartime activities of some corporate types (WW2, that is). Cross-referencing between the above two books and Christopher Simpson's, Charles Higham's and Loftus and Aarons's books on WW2 treason, really gives an insight into the Bush family. They were among the groups that was into all that, through a lot of corporate connections.

20. I knew Tony Chaitkin
I knew Tony Chaitkin very well back in the 70s - had dinner at his house a few times.
He is an honest and brilliant researcher and activist.
I last spoke with him a few years ago.
I would feel honored to hear from him.

21. He didn't call me today but he did call my room mate --
I got right on the phone and talked to him. Actually, we both talked to him. He was VERY chatty and we must have talked for 20 minutes or more. He seemed level headed and very passionate. He was looking to gather more people for the demonstrations in DC on Thursday. I asked how many reps they would have at the Boston rally tomorrow night and he said that he didn't think any would be there since they were concentrating on DC.

I did tell him that I thought Larouche was a wackjob but thanked him for his dedication.

He did not hesitate to call Cheney a nazi and * insane. That made me like him right away!
