Basically he's saying we are all down the toilet, no use doing anything, it will take 20 years, why bother, yadda yadda

Am still packing to leave for DC.

9. JEEZE! what a downer! Turn him off! Unless he knows something we don't
it's a waste of energy.

Really! Do you really believe any senator who is thinking about contesting the election on Thursday is dumb enough to actually tell the public what they are going to? They need to be on ROVE alert. They'll be eaten alive if the repugs find out before Thursday.

Maybe no one will stand up, but we won't know that until Thursday.

10. He basically said he'll throw mud at the neo-cons but it is
up to the young people to get busy and rebuild the party, although he's cynical about that happening.

He basically said GOODBYE to democracy.

Frankly, I know how he feels. If you've been hitting your head against the wall since the 60's then seeing it all slipping away because of a chicken party and a lazy American electorate...you can understand his frustration. The man is 60 years old and he's done all the can.

I can understand him, perfectly.

11. he's trying to bait his listeners (us) into getting angry
and determined. Call him and email him with optimism and tell him to tell his listeners to call their senators!!!!

15. I really wish that I could get through to him
Yes. He's right about the party establishment. But, He's missing the point. The party establishment is not the party. The people are the party. People who wouldn't have voted Democratic in the first place if they were'nt good people. People who care.
He's probably right. We have terrible odds. BUT, WE DO HAVE A CHANCE!
If nothing comes of it Thursday, here's what we do have. The connections and alliances formed here will go on.
What we are seeing,if nothing else, is the foundation, the beginnings, of the resistance, the underground, if you will.

16. You got to realize that MM is pissed....

Not pissed at you or me, but at all Democrats especially our so-called leaders. He is right - the true democrats are the ones who move our great country forward while the Repubs f*ck us over.

He is upset, as I am, that they have caved into the repubs. Look at Clinton - he is sitting with George Sr. and Little George. It seems that there is now just one party (at least in office and power). And that party is the party of 'the ones who have' - not us.

MM is telling us that if we want to survive as a people and a country - we (all of us) need to get back into power and start taking care of people, our country and our earth (for I feel it will crumble otherwise).
