PaineInTheArse of the same fame reports:
http://www.commongroundcommonsense.org/index.php?showtopic=13384&st=0&p=126002&#entry126002

This may be dated by now, but I just left Faneuil Hall.

David Lytel announed that SENATOR BARBARA BOXER has agreed to be the senator to challenge on 1/6!!!!!!!!!!

Pitt was there and has probably will be blogging this on THUTHOUT.ORG.

I'm in a neaby hotel business center, will write more when I get home.

73. Blame ME, not Will Pitt!
WILL PITT NOT ONLY DIDN'T INDICATE CERTAINTY of Boxer's Contesting
the CERTAINTY was suggested from my first post here

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=203x230175#top

so people whacking on Will

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=203&topic_id=237217&mesg_id=237217&page=

need, first, to use common sense and logic when reading,

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=203&topic_id=237217&mesg_id=237532&page=

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=203&topic_id=237217&mesg_id=237532&page=

and, second, understand that he was the one i counted on to be able to fact-check the quote -- clearly hearsay -- i made in reposting a first-person report -- hearsay -- of Lytel's statement -- hearsay -- of Barbara Boxer's intent

http://www.commongroundcommonsense.org/index.php?showtopic=13384&st=0&p=126002&#entry126002

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=203x230175#230274

and Will Pitt did the fact-checking and reported inability to confirm!

he reported that directly to this thread:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=203&topic_id=230175&mesg_id=231809&page=

i was sorry that with time "UNCONFIRMED" was the only record he could add to the "CERTAIN" statement i quoted of it's report in Lytel's talk that night:

This may be dated by now, but I just left Faneuil Hall.

David Lytel announed that SENATOR BARBARA BOXER has agreed to be the senator to challenge on 1/6!!!!!!!!!!

http://www.truthout.org/fyi

- "I have no way to confirm this"
- "I cannot vouch for Mr. Lytel's version of things until I have spoken with these people"
- "I couldn't get anyone to go on the record to confirm Lytel's statement"

so PLEASE!!!! if anyone concluded the CERTAINTY of Boxer's signing on, first blame yourself for not applying common sense. then blame me for quoting another first-person hearsay of Lytel's statement about Boxer's commitment.

but you'll only convincingly demonstrate an absence of common sense, logic, and reading comprehension if you blame Will Pitt!

-----------

done with this now!

21. Pitt's Blog: We have Senators?
Heading home
Monday 03 January 2005 @ 09:45
I am done here. Lytell gave me the numbers, and I will run the Tubbs-Jones story down in the morning.
We have Senators?
Monday 03 January 2005 @ 09:10
I am told by David Lytell, who has been lobbying Senators to stand with Conyers that Senator Tubbs-Jones is actively considering standing up, and if she asks Senator Boxer to do the same, Boxer will stand as well.

I have no way to confirm this until tomorrow, but Lytell is giving me the phone numbers I will need to get that confirmation. He seems to think something will pop on this some time tomorrow. I will run this to ground with alacrity when the sun comes up.
History lesson
Monday 03 January 2005 @ 08:35
We are getting a history lesson on the Electors and the states. Since the founding of the country, some states have been discounted from the national Electoral total when it is proven said state was unable to run a fair election. Louisiana and Arkansas suffered this ignominy. So it has happened.
Arnebeck
Monday 03 January 2005 @ 08:22
Cliff Arnebeck just gave a short update on his case in Ohio. He sounds hopeful.

I dunno, but I would think that any Senator planning to challenge might think it strategic to keep that decision confidential and work quietly to inform/assist other likely Senators, to avoid tipping the opposition off.

68. catgirl, Bozos observed a high rate of posting by Jamboi and PITA
Edited on Tue Jan-04-05 06:33 PM by luaptifer
and that is what sparked his suspicion and analysis of the two. i don't know if PITA was a poster here so can't say anything about his possibly getting tombstoned.

but -- and this is my own opinion -- i suspect Jamboi and PITA are both simply as obsessed with understanding the dynamics and possible fraud of this election as Bozos and i are.

i have a little insight to the issues as Bozos and i (and others) independently realized that certain posters on various interested fora seemed to be involved in a high-rate disinfo campaign. in parallel, we found ourselves (still separately) standing as skeptics to the claims of these particular posters (note, they were not Jamboi or PITA). eventually things came to a head across BBV, CGCS, and the daily Kos where the various skeptical efforts seemed to kill at least one leg of that disinfo campaign and for the most part those -- i'll call them -- 'perps' have disappeared from their previous haunts. as that played out, Bozos and i developed a dialogue on these issues.

Bozos has a keen eye and having noted the high rate activity of those 'perps', realized that it was unlikely one person could have been posting all the bs across the several fora. so he started looking for other high-rate posters who may have been collaborating with the disinfo campaign and during that investigation saw that Jamboi and PITA made lots of posts.

i was not such a frequent DUer at the time so really didn't have a sense of either's history. but, in context of the actvity pattern Bozos ID'd, my summary sense of the two posters was that, though prolific, their posts were (and are) both materially and qualitatively distinct in pattern from the disinfo 'perps'. i conveyed that perspective to Bozos who still felt it important that their rate of activity be known and so called them out on that basis in a dKos diary.

more recently i understand his conclusion regarding Jamboi's intent has been revised to an alert level of 'blue' or benign.

my own opinion is that Bozos, Jamboi, PITA, and myself are simply individuals who recognize this admin as capable and willing of anything to further their goals. with those goals founded on no ethical basis but requiring "WIN AT ANY COST", opposing individuals such as ourselves are obsessed with advancing the cause of justice and ensuring that 'our side' is not undermined by Rovian tactics like 'memogate' that emasculated Rather.

bottomline: arrayed against power that has no morals, i think Bozos is just being obsessively careful while Jamboi and PITA are just obsessively informative. if i had any influence, i'd prefer the admins here resurrect ALL of them from the graveyard!

obviously all FWIW and JMHO! :-)

41. I choose to believe.
I nurture an irrational hope.

Until Jan 7 I believe that Kerry has known all along that it would come down to congress. With his long tenure and connections there, he knows that enough democrats and a few angry republicans are all it would take to flip the election. After all, the BA has abused congress -- republicans and democrats alike -- over the last four years with lies, illegal fund shifting, and power grabbing. Even if they don't say in public, I bet republican congresspersons find the administration laughable and embarrassing.

Also...these guys in congress talk to each other. I would bet most of the dems know what most of the other dems are doing. I've thought that either none would stand or a strong majority would. It would serve no one's purposes if JUST ONE challenged the electoral vote. I believe (until Jan 7 anyway) that many will stand for what is right.

(Problem I will think about Jan 7: I wonder if the huge republican pork in the last few budgets were payoff for staying loyal through the election....?)

44. Please be true.
I don't believe Kerry will be President and that's not necessarily the most important thing.

The issue that trumps everything is election fraud. They get away with it again we'll never again have another Democratically elected President. One Senator forces the media spotlight on this fraud and changes the dynamic.

60. Absolutely.
I'm hoping that this is true, but until she says it or until Thursday afternoon we will not know for sure. It's an exercise in the hopelessly insane to work ourselves up over unverified information. Patience and prudence and preparation would serve us best at this point.

62. BINGO!
I still pedict not a single Senator will stand up because there is no hard evidence of a widespread fraud conspiracy.

66. "widespread fraud conspiracy"
1. There's no requirement that fraud be widespread; and/or
2. There's no requirement to prove a conspiracy.
3. As for fraud, they don't need proof of fraud, either.

See hootin holler's thread:

There is a very good argument for this case to be debated by Congress based on Justice Breyer's dissent opinion in bush v. Gore. Check it out.

And let me add my own comment: All hail bush, to whom the gods have granted 99.999% of "irregularities" in his favor.

63. Just sent her office an email...
I am pleased to read that Sen. Boxer will challenge the 2004 election. As more and more election fraud in 2004 is surfacing and being documented, I applaud the Senator’s decision to hold accountable those individuals responsible.

Democracy was denied in 2000 and 2004. We cannot as a nation allow this to continue.

Sincerely,

(name

P.S. I used "Reproductive Issues" as the topic of my message since if nothing is done about election fraud, we will only be reproducing the same corrupt and criminal government, illegitimate election after illegitimate election.

69. Will's update says Boxer's position is still unknown until Thursday.
Re: Tubbs-Jones and Boxer
Tuesday 04 January 2005 @ 11:11
After a series of telephone calls, the aforementioned story regarding Tubbs-Jones and Boxer stands just about where you'd figure. Senator Boxer is definitely considering offering a challenge to the Electors. If she actually decides to do so, however, she won't break cover until Thursday. That is, frankly, wise. To do otherwise would be calling down the thunder on herself and her staffers.

I couldn't get anyone to go on the record to confirm Lytel's statement that Rep. Tubbs-Jones can get Boxer to stand up just by asking her to do so. At the end of things here, Lytel's claim last night (which I am told he has repeated to a number of other blogs) is just going to hang out there in space until it is proven true or false.

Running in circles is fun. Please return to gnawing.

71. Why don't you ask the moderators to pull this?
Do they do that?

72. wouldn't that just make MATTERS WORSE?
i think in a case such as this, it's important that people can be pointed to the facts so that, first, the evidence i present backing up Will's truth is available for those who have question.

an edit link still exists in my original post so i thought i could update with the information i've posted today but the edit period has timed-out.

so to be sure people see the updates, i figured i'd do a couple of kicks and people can get it from 'the horse's mouth' in effect.
