Post your favourite statistical absurdity here

Here's my one:

Zogby expected a very large turnout among young voters, with at least 55 percent voting in today's election.

Among voters ages 18 to 29, polls indicate that 0 percent are undecided, Zogby said. He believes that group will give Kerry the edge.

Kerry will get 64 percent of those votes followed by Bush with 35 percent and third-party candidate Ralph Nader with just 1 percent, Zogby said.

So Zogby predicted 64:35 for Kerry
It turned out to be 55:45 for Kerry, according to CNN.

This is ridiculous. They robbed young voter's votes on a large scale.

1. Why you vote against your own self interest
Apparently in order for Bush to win some democrats, gays and lesbians, young people, blacks, hispanics and union members (sorry if I left out a group) voted for Bush. I can't wrap my brain around the fact that you vote for someone who is specifically against your own self interests. I can understand if you are a big corporation (drug company or whatever) why you vote for and encourage your workers to vote for Bush. That makes sense to me because the man supports your agenda. I can even understand if you are an average republican why you might even hold your nose but still vote for Bush maybe in his first term.

I don't think however, if you are member of any of these groups you can seriously think that GWB has any of your interests in mind at any point during his day. If you have a job your one outsource away from not having one. If you don't have one good luck in finding one thats going to pay you enough to afford your own health, dental and retirement plan.
