We need a Governor, not a Senator, as our next candidate
I was reading some threads here about how the Republicans attacked our positions, and one of the things that I saw over and over again was how Kerry was attacked for his "liberal" votes in the Senate. Add to that those senators who voted for the war ("He was for it before he was against it") and I think that having your hand in national politics just adds fuel to the Repub's fire.

Governors have already proven that they can (or can't) handle a budget, work in a partisan manner, make the "tough" choices, etc. At this point, it seems futile to continue to harvest people from Washington.

7. I'm not sure. Mark Warner of Virginia is terrific, a democratic governor
in a republican state, and I truly like him, but I don't think he's well-known enough.

2. I think the number one issue that defeated us was the "morals" issue.

Governor or Senator it would have been the same. The fundies put Bush over the top. A candidate's stands on abortion, gay marriage, stem cell research will be used against him no matter what his office is.

10. This is a great list of morals
Randi Rhodes was also listing moral values on her Thursday program. She had the start of a good list.

Thanks for the link -- I missed it when it was first posted on the Latest threads.

4. Bull shit -- we WON -- Vote fraud defeated us
Jesus Christ would have lost to bush.

Get this through your heads -- WE WON. Their side cheated. They are not about to give up the power and they want absolute power.

No candidate is going to win when they count the vote and shave votes here and add votes there to give bushie (or bushie clone) the election.

Who the hell in their right mind would want to run in a rigged election?

These same fools who are quoting the exit polls on the value issues are saying that these polls are not valid.

Which is it -- are the exit polls valid which predicted Kerry as the winner or are the exit polls valid which tell us that we lost on values???

There is a psy-ops game going on -- use your logic -- there is mass brain washing going on.

Don't believe the media and don't believe the pundits on our side -- they want to re-frame the issue -- and put the blame on us. WE are the victims -- WE WON -- they lost. We did nothing wrong. Our values are just fine -- liberal values are in fact the values of Jesus Christ.

Slap slap -- wake up -- you are being brain washed.

6. Please do not assume that I need a slap to understand what happened here.
It doesn't negate my ability to look into the future. I *truly believe* that the election results were tampered with. I *truly* want to have the truth come out.

I'm merely thinking of another strategy, and hoping others will join in the discussion.

9. My point is WHO would want to run?
Now I hear that Reid is being tapped to run for Senate Minority leader -- he sounds to me like a GOP lite.

This is what the fundamentalist want -- for the dems to field GOP lite candidates.

Until the problem of who counts the vote -- it is a waste of energy to think about who might run in 2008 for president.

Would we want some sort of bush lite clone who might be acceptable to the fucking fundamentalists whose "values" we are now being pressured to emulate so that we don't alienate the god damned souther voters. Screw the South.

Also I fear that any discussion of this might just put a bulls eye on our choice -- sort of like getting the person Wellstoned.

We now know that the bush crime family will do absolutely anything to keep absolute power. They will murder, lie, blackmail, drug, rig elections in order to obtain even more power.

There are so many good people -- we had a fantastic roster of candidates during the primaries. But let's not even name anyone -- because I don't want that person to join Wellstone. Remember this bunch in power kills liberals -- JFK, MLK, RFK -- JFKjr (maybe) -- how many conservatives have been assassinated???

8. Main point is
we was robbed, again. And I don't mean Dems alone. I mean the whole country was robbed of it's democracy by massive election fraud. There are way too many right wing reupugs and fundies, that's for sure, and the campaign or candidate might have been better, but all you got to do is flip the popular vote around and you'll be getting close to the actual votes cast for Kerry. This should give us hope. It shows that the majority is on the right side, our side.
But what is most frightening is the constant and total complicity of big media. We have our work cut out for us.
