Just what the rethugs ordered, I think.

4. Rove Co. has stepped up the focus since we are approaching Jan. 6th... |
|
...They want to make it seem unpopular to step up to the plate and hit one home for him....
But, alas, it seems to be a popular sport here lately....I don't believe in blind loyalty, but I'm dismayed and disgusted by how many so called Dems and Progressives and Liberals seem to blow which ever way the wind is blowing....

We voted the right way, yet we do still have to live with the dumb, uninformed choice made by the red states.
It's not a matter blowing "which ever way". It's a matter of regrouping, getting back up on the horse, and getting it done in 2006 and beyond.
We're on the same side, remember?

Maybe it was too vague of a description, but there have been an amazing amount of people who were quick to abandon Kerry and talk of abandoning the Dems....I'm not saying that regrouping and thinking about things or wondering about why Kerry did what he did isn't a smart or wise thing, but I am reserving "judgement" if there is such a thing for after Jan 6th when I can witness Kerry and other Senators actions as it pertains to this election. Then, with the new House and Senate in place, I will watch for the first month and see what they are doing and saying. If I see the Dems moving to the right and not fighting for what is "the right thing" for the American people, I will be the first to switch my party affiliation and let them know they aren't ever getting a penny from me again - and I gave very, very generously - the maximum allowable to Kerry from both my husband and I, $10K to the DNC and I fundraised like a mad woman for the GELAC fund for the Dems...Boxer and Feinstein know my name too...If they become lap dogs to the GOP, I'll become a card carrying Green member and fight hard for Progressive Candidates like there is no tommorrow...not that I didn't do that before, but I will take serious action. I just like I said have reserved that judgement for after Jan. 6th and say into February....Let's just call it "who is getting Pachamama's Valentine in February?" Is it the DNC anymore or someone else? I'm a loyal lover, but not to a lover who can't perform anymore, emotionally or physically after many chances and a long, long patient wait, if I can use that analogy...

thanks. I don't have a deadline, but I too am reserving my judgement. I'm optimistic right now, and plan on staying that way for a while. I cannot fathom the entire Democratic party folding up, and I don't believe that's what they're going to do, but if I'm proven wrong, we're screwed.

I'd have to find out Kerry barbeques babies for the DLC before I'd drop him.
It's like when I started going to church. I went to a liberal Lutheran one, and yet people I knew on campus would try to recruit me for THEIR church. I'd say that I had mine, and if I ever found my current church wanting, I'd come look at theirs. Their response, "Well, if you think you have *time*" as if I had to be at the right church before the Second Coming or be "left behind."
Well, I still go to that liberal Lutheran church. About 75% Kerry voters too. I was so proud. I am home.
Same with the Dems. I just joined, and I'm just learning how things work now for the first time. I never sat with CSPAN on all day before. If I eventually find them wanting, I'll go looking for a new "church." But for now, I'm home.

I've been trying to hold my own counsel until then. I can't blame people getting impatient with "wait and see", it's hard to keep the faith with no encouragement. But it's almost over, the waiting, and we'll see soon.

I consider him a good man. Not being president hasn't changed that.
He also knows more about what's going on right now. I don't want him to "Gore" himself needlessly. If he had nothing to lose, that would be different. But we need him in the Senate.

Psychologically, it's a reflection of the same maladaptation as those band-aids exactly.
And, it's what unites the many different outlooks that make up the Dems. The more evil they spew, the more crimes and misfortunes they endorse, the more resolute and determined we become.
That is how, and why, Liberalism did prevail, and will prevail again. Good post.

History will judge John Kerry. There will be plenty of time, after Jan 20th, to reflect on exactly what he did or did not do.
Now is the time for activism. If you have a problem with what John Kerry is doing or not doing, then write to him, call him, fax him, and do the same for all of your representatives.
It is natural that the stress level is going to steadily increase as we approach Jan 6th. It is natural to want to blame someone for what is happening in this country. I will propose just one more wild idea. The enemy might not be John Kerry.

:hi:
We need to be directing our energies properly...I've been trying to recharge my batteries since Nov. 3rd and am in "hibernation" mode...not dead, not sleeping, but regrouping for the Spring if you will and plan to be so active that it will make what I did pale in comparison....
Stress's have been super high...and people's faith in what the future holds is low....I'm convinced most people (and I see it in the people I know who want to fight for what is right) are just worn down and their feeling defeated....We can't let that happen or else we are defeated....That's why I prescribe and recommend a good diet, lots of sleep, excercise, meditation and yoga, martial arts and lots of lovemaking. Read, stay informed and make daily or atleast bi-weekly phone calls to your Senators, Rep, and write letters to the editors or papers atleast twice a month.

He talked a good talk but there is no follow up.
Actions Speak louder than words and the actions of Kerry has thus far been one of continual retreat and seemingly out right lies to the people who voted for him.
He's in flippin IRAQ on the 6th of January for gods sake!
I guess what I am trying to say is this isnt about John "I coulda been somebody" Kerry
Its about all of us little people being continually manipulated and used by our so called "leaders". They only lead when they have something to gain and are constantly no where to be found when we are in trouble.
They govern us by our consent and we need to step up and take back the reigns of power.
"Government is not reason and it is not eloquence. It is force! Like fire it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master. Never for a moment should it be left to irresponsible action." -- George Washington

Overwhelmingly likely it's not Jan. 6.
Maybe it's '08. Probably '12. Necessarily '16. Definitely '32.
But we win. Believe.

enough. It was almost as bad at Kennedy's office. Senator Byrd's office was cordial..almost friendly...If Kerry does not want us to feel betrayed, perhaps he could speak out about election fraud and perhaps instruct his staff to be less dismissive. Like all of you, I worked my heart out for this election... and we won it damn it. Of course I feel betrayed when the Democratic party is virtually silent. I just called and e-mailed the DNC stating that if they didn't make a stand on this one that they no longer deserved my support.

Something bad happens, and he's the immediate punching bag.
I guess people have to vent, but it's getting a bit old.
Kerry could kill this whole Senator thing by doing what Gore did and making an explicit request for no one to object. He's bound to know what's up. Hmmmm... I don't see that happening just yet. (If you're by some strange chance reading this, Mr. Senator, you'd better not go there if you want any chance in 2008. Even I won't defend you on THAT.)
And I have no problem with his being absent on the 6th. Some people just don't seem to get it. Kerry could not contest. It would doom the objection. But if he didn't contest, that would also doom it.
