Is this true about Kid Rock?
I just heard on the Randi Rhodes show that Kid Rock will be part of the entertainment in the inaugural celebration. Once again, the white house has not done their homework and is going to look pretty silly to their Christian base….hehehe….should I be this happy about it?

By the way…please note that in his lyrics for “Pimp of the Nation”, he mentions pimping Barbara Bush. This is the greatest thing *ever*!

Here’s a sample of some of his lyrics….***WARNING*** THEY’RE EXPLICIT!

"Pimp of the Nation, I could be it
As a matter of a fact, I for see it
But only pimpin hoes with the big tush
WHILE YOU BE LEFT PIMPIN BARBARA BUSH
What's up granny
First name Annie
Dried up cunt and a saggin fanny
The highlight of your sex adventures
You wanna suck this take out your denchers
A show of life is all I'm givin
Old pimp young hoes is how I'm livin
But for now rap's the occupation
But watch one day I'll be Pimp Of The Nation"

Tell me this is true!

I'm a newbie...so if this is the wrong place to post this or it's a repeat, please let me know...I can take the heat :)

65. they want him to reprise his dumbass redneck character from Joe Dirt
Kid Rock was pretty convincing as the bullying redneck foil in the movie Joe Dirt.

Although, the role may not have been much of a stretch...

4. Yep, I've heard that several times.
Also, Gloria Estefan and Kelsey Grammar will be involved in the inauguration. Apparently this admin can't find many entertainers that support them. And yes, I think Kid Rock will knock 'em dead with his lyrics for those holier than thou types.

..and he is the worst piece of trailer trash garbage I have ever seen. Honestly, he is a waste of skin...

But if he wants to sing that song at the UN-aurural Ball, let him. He and the Bushes deserve each other.

Keep him, the punch bowl, and the Bush twins separated though, or we'll have a real situation on our hands. I can see the headlines now.

Not only do they refer to Kid Rock as an "artist"...they threw this one in:

<snip>

A few staff members even had hot-off-the-presses 2005 Dick Cheney calendars, a limited edition that features 11 months of the vice president fishing, riding a horse, giving speeches and walking with Mr. Bush along the White House colonnade. The 12th month, December, is a photograph of Mr. Cheney's Labrador retriever.

I sure hope he's fully clothed in all those shots!

There are also boatloads of "unofficial" parties being thrown by lobbying groups all over town, including two late-night entertainment industry wingdings: One is planned by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), and the other is by the Creative Coalition, the Hollywood-tilting nonprofit arts advocate

The Creative Coalition's event, also January 20, is called The Ball After the Balls. Macy Gray is the musical headliner. Tickets are also $1,000

No matter what you think of his music it's a damn smart move to bring in someone like Kid Rock to make the Repug party look "cool." They're not only bringing Hollywood into the fold but now they're going for "edgy" musicians as well. This is how they will win over the younger generation.

Edited on Tue Jan-04-05 11:11 PM by Turn CO Blue
young voters will so totally rebel against any formulaic plan like that with the stuffed-shirts guessing poorly at what the younger generation thinks is cool.

If the Repugs can't get the really popular bands (which they can't because those bands are all busy writing anti-Bush songs) then they're stuck with the B group. My hubby may think Kid Rock is cool; however, my 20-year old radical activist Kerry-voting son thinks Kid Rock sucks.

My kids love bands like Green Day, Jimmy Eat World, The Killers, Switchfoot, Incubus, Coldplay, Nickelback, 3 Doors Down, Modest Mouse, etc. Obviously, my kids got me into this "modern rock" - so I love it too!

Hip Hop sucks! Britney is the worst! I wish she were playing at the Coronation, since she thinks we should, "like, trust our president" and all!

49. Aerosmith is from NH. Booked through a Boston agency as they...
were in the "up and coming". They used to do a 5 night weekly gig across the border in NY on a frequent basis in the early seventies(3 miles away from my home). I could go there on a Sunday night, buy a 50 cent beer, and listen to all the songs that would be on their first album; never knowing they would reach such success. Roots in NH can be rather conservative. Just remember "the liberal of today can be the conservative of tomorrow"!

:-)

....about liberal today being the conservative of tomorrow, but I'm 58 years old and I'm more radical than ever. :hippie:

56. Seeing Robert Duvall's name on that list is very disappointing.
Billy Bob is a bit of a surprise too.
Does Charlton Heston even know where he is?

46. Remember, the “Great Communicator” was very confused by the ENTIRE…..
interpretive content in the lyrics of Bruce Springsteen during his 1984 re-election campaign. It is amazing how some of these people can be so disoriented!!

"America's future rests in a thousand dreams inside our hearts," the president said. "It rests in the message of hope in the songs of a man so many young Americans admire: New Jersey's own Bruce Springsteen."

Reagan -- or his speechwriter -- was likely thinking of one song in particular: "Born in the U.S.A.," the title cut from Springsteen's No. 1 album of the time. The song, with Max Weinberg's thunderous drums, Roy Bittan's glittery keyboards and an anthemic chorus, was impossible to avoid that year: "Born in the U.S.A., I was born in the U.S.A. ..."

But look deeper, and there was another dimension to "Born in the U.S.A." The song was the ferocious cry of an unemployed Vietnam veteran.

<snip>

The singer wasn't amused by Reagan's appropriation of his work.

BORN IN THE U.S.A.

Born down in a dead man's town
The first kick I took was when I hit the ground
You end up like a dog that's been beat too much
Till you spend half your life just covering up

Born in the U.S.A.
I was born in the U.S.A.
I was born in the U.S.A.
Born in the U.S.A.

Got in a little hometown jam
So they put a rifle in my hand
Sent me off to a foreign land
To go and kill the yellow man

Born in the U.S.A.
I was born in the U.S.A.
I was born in the U.S.A.
I was born in the U.S.A.
Born in the U.S.A.

Come back home to the refinery
Hiring man says "Son if it was up to me"
Went down to see my V.A. man
He said "Son, don't you understand"

I had a brother at Khe Sahn fighting off the Viet Cong
They're still there, he's all gone

He had a woman he loved in Saigon
I got a picture of him in her arms now

Down in the shadow of the penitentiary
Out by the gas fires of the refinery
I'm ten years burning down the road
Nowhere to run ain't got nowhere to go

Born in the U.S.A.
I was born in the U.S.A.
Born in the U.S.A.
I'm a long gone Daddy in the U.S.A.
Born in the U.S.A.
Born in the U.S.A.
Born in the U.S.A.
I'm a cool rocking Daddy in the U.S.A.

52. "don't you say that about my momma"
It'd be awkward to have an inaugural performer make fun of the president's mother, but hey, if Bush can't do his homework, that's what he deserves.

I heard they were getting back together again! I always likes both of them, but now I'm really wondering WHY?? I mean Billy Bob and John!

And Adam Sandler??? That was a shock to me!

Wonder what reasons they COULD HAVE????

82. Best Kid Rock story ever.
After he played on an aircraft carrier for the troops in Iraq, CNN had Wolf Blitzer interview him.

Wolf Blitzer went through the usual chit-chat about supporting the troops, etc.

He made the mistake of asking Kid Rock his opinion on gay marriage.

Kid Rock: "I'm all for it. That's just more chicks for me and you, Wolf!"

Never have I seen Wolf Blitzer look so mortified. Classic.

But yeah, he's an idiot and digs Bush, for reasons unknown.

86. Kid Rock is a Rethug/Bush Lover because he is a Chickenhawk...
he thinks we should spread his (Kid Rock's) ideas of "America" to the world. His views lean heavily to the left as a whole. I read an online article (forgot which publication) in which he said he did not mind paying his taxes because they went towards defense, paying soliders and veterans, and for social programs to help the less fortunate. It really is odd that he'd be so gung ho for Bush.
