1. One thing I realized about myself
watching Bill and Senior last night was how low my standards had sunk. Even though I detested daddy bush when he was prez I would welcome him in place of his evil spawn any day.

12. The question wasn't even about the fairness of the election
KING: President Bush, this was, of course, everyone will agree, a brilliant show of unity today to have the two distinguished people like yourselves to combine together. There are some people who are saying that maybe some of the inaugural events can be -- the balls and the like -- can be canceled or tempered down. What do you think?

BUSH: I think life goes on. I don't think we can give up, should. I don't think it will help anything in Sri Lanka if the balls were, you know, peeled back in terms of the inauguration. I think they're separate questions, and the country, our country, can do a lot of things at the same time.

But what we're interested in doing is seeing that we get as much help as possible to the area. And so I don't buy into that. I mean, I think that's the decision of the president and the White House and the inaugural committee. And I don't like to see it get mixed.

You know, Larry, today, I was asked, well, "Did the president -- who is stingy" -- somebody accused him of being stingy, or somebody said he should have got this thing going two days earlier. That's beltway stuff. That's all, in my view, inside the beltway. It has little to do with whether we're going to succeed in what President Clinton and I are trying to do and what the president's trying to do. And so I don't...

KING: President Clinton, do you agree with what President Bush just said?

CLINTON: I do. I don't think that the -- you know, I voted for the other fellow, but President Bush won this election fair and square. And he ought to -- he ought to be able to have his inaugural. And his supporters should be able to celebrate it, however they see fit. And I don't think that it will detract one red cent from the money that we will give privately or publicly to this relief effort.

18.  That justifies it? It is unseemly and an insult to our soldiers who are
dying for nothing! It is also extremely insulting to the victims of one of the world's biggest natural disasters. But as long as it is private money, party on? How many people were parting after 9-11? My husbands birthday is 9-12 and we did NOT celebrate. We didn't feel it was appropriate. And think how much better some of that money could be put to use! $250,000 for some tickets and we have people dying because they can't afford medical care? Disgusting! But whatever. Not a problem.

21. how people spend their own money is their own deal.
If they want to be stingy, greedy, flashy and not live a life of temperance - than let them, you cant do anything about it. If they have sinned and have harmed their fellow man - they will be judged. You and I cant do anything about it - except lead our lives in a better way.

8. Rope
All I can come up with at this point is that the Dems in the House know there's no way out of this chaos in four years and are rooting to keep Shrub in there to witness him hanging by the rope of his own mess.

Or, their ambitions are overpowering any commitment to the people they represent.

I wonder if he thinks NAFTA, Telecom deregulation, and the corporate welfare he either signed or help set up are things to be proud of. How about all those pardons? What a 'legacy' he has for himself.

Treasonous POS.

Repugs and most Dems are the same stinking excrement.

When our choices are once again tweedle dee and tweedle dum, we will vote for Nader or someone like him ALWAYS (Kerry was an exception, and we all know how THAT turned out).

29. they are all politicians
I doubt they even dislike each other. The extreme dislike is left for the everyday citizens of the country. The politicians, especially whichever group happens to be in the minority at the time, all realize that if they don't work with the majority they will never get ANYTHING so long as they are the minority. Politics is compromise. Just my opinion.

31. For Those Who Think With Their Heads and Not their Hearts
What Bill Clinton is Doing is VERY Smart

This way the GOP can not call the Election Fraud Investigation Movement partisan since there are clearly prominent Democrats who are not part of it.

He is also reminding Americans that Democrats are very good at getting things done, unlike Republicans who are mostly good at tearing down, i.e investigating, invading and bombing. With Clinton organizing a relief effort for the Tsunami, Kerry exploring peace options in the Middle East and Conyers investigating vote fraud we see the Democratic Party both tearing down and building up.

32. They can call it "Fringe Partisan," which is worse
Without any major figures (aside from Jackson and it's not clear if he is still a major figure), it's easy to call those investigating things "the loony left."

34. Guess the koolaid must be spiked pretty good. Just proves
that you can spin anything, anyway. Truth is Clinton by his words is deligitimizing our quest for the truth and for transparent fair elections. Notice he said "fair and square." What a slap in the face to the African Americans he purports to love and support. Is the systematic, concentrated, concerted, deliberate, unlawful effort of the GOP to disenfranchise the African American voters in TWO elections FAIR??? I'm sorry he makes me sick! I'm sorry I bought his book. NAFTA and his repeated pronouncement of the FAIR 2004 election just demonstrate the adage "with friends like this who needs enemies." The DNC better get it together or a new grassroots movement will put them in their place in '08.
