It's beginning to appear that the only citizens who have representation are those who have bought in to the GOP agenda, hook, line and sinker. The GOP is going too far, the danger signals are everywhere, social security, tax "reform", tort "reform", enhanced patriot act, limiting the ability of congress to hold the majority party to ethical behavior, on and on!
They have dismissed the rest of us with derision, showing us the back of their hand. They have no need to compromise and won't they even showed this when they were in the minority. In short we are living in dangerous times.
The only power we have is the vote. As outraged as I was by the CA recall, it is a weapon. I think it would behoove us to familiarize ourselves with the recall laws in each republican held congressional district and where allowed under the law, initiate recall petitions. I don't think we can wait until 2006!

it's covered in the US constitution. California could recall Davis because their STATE constitution allows it.

2. The fascist repukes won't give a shit about petitions.... |
|
Other than for their amusement watching activists work hard to gather enough signatures. They might even deem to allow initiatives to be voted on. Then they will rig the fucking vote and the initiative will fail.

the US Constitution covers the issue, not local law. The constitution doesn't have a provision for recalling congresspeople.

8. It sounds so futile. It would be good to find something, like |
|
a recall, something very creative, to screw them up somehow.

9. Except that members of Congress are not subject to recall |
|
The only way that a member of Congress can be removed from office is to be expelled by a vote of the chamber in which they are a member.
