I phoned my senators today...
As a Marylander, I am happy to report that Sen. Mikulski, according to her secretary, is getting alot of calls about the January 6 voter fraud business. Sen. Sarbanes' secretary did not say as much, but he seemed to get message after I stuttered "stand-up against voter fraud...January 6."
It was my first time so I was very nervous, but it went alright.
Fellow Marylanders please call tomorrow during business hours:
Mikulski 202-224-4654
Sarbanes 202-224-4524

Thank God Mikulsksi got re-elected!
Everyone keep dialing for democracy and the democrats.

The Reign of God is on the way!

4. OK election fraud...
I was nervous so I flubbed it. Please everyone call your senators to task about this. I saw Farenheit 9/11 and cried when one senator did not stand up for election fraud in 2000. Some Democrat Senator please stand and do your duty, that's my prayer.
Blessings to y'all DUers!

3. Good job!
I bet the senators (and their staff) don't know what hit them! When I called I could hear other phones ringing, got put on hold a few times, etc. At least we are making some noise.

One more day to make calls before they open and the electoral votes.

on the phone when I'm angry, nervous, and frustrated. I'm afraid I'll sound like a lunatic if I call my Senators!

8. Then e-mail them, hon
I e-mailed both senators before I phoned them. I get all nervous on the phone, too, but remember you'll be speaking most likely to some secretary and not the senator himself or herself. I'd've fainted if Mikulski answered, she's my hero.
Hey, Mikulski's secretary is really nice, if you're a Marylander...

9. I used to work for an African-American State Senator.
Sometimes if he was in early or working late, he'd answer the phone himself, but wouldn't let on that he was the Senator. He introduced a lot of very liberal bills, including gun control and a bill to make MLK's birthday a state law before it was a federal holiday. Good stuff to tick off the right-wing nutsos.

It was very amusing when he'd get a bigot or racist on the line and string them along with "Yas'm, Oh, Yas'm, I sho will tell 'im,", then at the end, he'd let them know in flawless English that they'd just cussed out their Senator! He'd finish by giving them a piece of his mind, then hanging up. (His philosophy was "I'm never going to win their vote anyhow, so I may as well have a little fun with them.")

11. It's the sincerity that counts as much as the message :)
The Senators know what's going on, so do their staff. They have the facts, so it's just the sound of your voice, the fact that you care enough about this issue to call them, that's what matters.

The voice may stammer, you may be at a loss for words, but they're listening to your heart ;)

13. I Wrote to Katherine Harris & Bill Nelson
Several times! Funny thing, they aren't THAT interested. Harris of course, doesn't count... but then Bill Nelson is soooooooo LIGHT and wants to get re-elected. I told him that if he didn't start standing up for us Democrats that I would personally do all I could to get Democrats NOT to vote for him.

He has replied to me 2 times, but basically the replies were so so so LAME! Seems he has a new buddy named Mel Martinez??????

29. I have written to Nelson as well and his replies to me were not lame.
His reply stated he had been made aware of the recent problems with the election asnd that there were several organizations investigating the allegations including the EAC.

15. Good job, tomorrow get busy calling the rest of the U.S. Senators.
I'm doing it alphabetically and I'm up to Leahy. Clinton's office said that she sent legal teams to both of Conyers hearings and Jeffords is not going to stand. Dayton is not definite. All others I contacted said they were getting many calls in support of contesting, but they have not issued statements as of yet. Wish me luck tomorrow with the rest.

I contacted the Senators as well one way or t'other (phone, fax, email, etc.). A few memorable experiences. All quite positive.

I'm optimistic. People, this energy we feel, this momentum, this passion - this is truth. Revel in it for a moment - act on it next - protect it forever.

And whatever the result, I'll be optimistic Jan. 7.

18. Corzine and Lautenberg were meeting with each other as I called
today. The person who answered Corzine's phone was very upbeat and welcomed the calls. Both offices said neither had issued a statement but that they were looking at this issue.

I'm hoping my great Senators will surprise me Thursday with a two-fer.

21. I just emailed my Senator, Feingold
I think he's a better bet than Kohl.

Here's what I wrote. Let me know what you think.

Dr. Sen. Feingold

Do you have any intention of standing up with Rep. Conyers on January 6th to contest the Ohio electors? I understand that there is no chance of changing the outcome of the election. Sen. Kerry has indeed conceeded the race. What I want at this point is a fixed vote, not an overturned election. We need election reform, desperately. No one should have to stand all day to vote. The minority voters should never have to fear being disenfrancised in this day and age. I thought we were past all that. Apparently we are not.

We need results we can trust, an auditable election, electronic machines that leave a paper trail and have a backup, registered voter lists that aren't purged of perfectly legitimate voters.

I know that several Senators have already said that they don't see the point of contesting electors in a race whose outcome can't be changed. But what we need at this point is legitimacy. We need our elected representatives and the public at large to take seriously just how broken the vote was in certain states this year. We need non-partisan oversight of elections, the same machines being used in federal elections in all 50 states, and plenty of machines to go around. No districts should have had fewer machines in 2004 than in 2000, considering that we knew the turnout was going to be tremendous. But that's what happened in parts of Ohio. The man overseeing the election in Ohio should not have been the man running Bush's campaign in Ohio.

Please, sir. Won't you help us. It is my fondest hope that more than one Senator will stand up, taking the political burden off of one set of shoulders and putting it on many. I've always been struck by your bravery in standing up for what is right. Won't you do it again now?

Thank you for your time.

DeWine & Voinovich: Heard about Judiciary Committee's questions or Blackwell. 2 requests: 1) pressure Blackwell to cooperate 2) Contest the EC until Congress gets satistactory answers to Conyers' questions.
A bored voice: "I'm make sure the Senator gets that." Not so hopeful with those two, but what the hell.

23. CALL BOXER'S OFFICE IN L.A. - 213 894 5000
It's so so so cheap and easy to call your senators.

Contact any Senator: 1-800-839-5276
Contact any Congressperson: 1-877-762-8762

Give Conyers some support too.

This is the most important thing we can do. 24 hours and the clock is ticking.

peace- but never give up the struggle -

che

26. I've Written Senators of Other States Too!
I sent out a form letter of sorts to many other Democratic Senators, speaking of my lack of confidence in the legislators of Florida. This as a premise as to why I was making an appeal to them

Several that come to mind are Feingold, Boxer, Leahy, Corzine, Biden, Shumer, but didn't write to Hillary. While I'm sure she's definitely a staunch Democrat, I'm not sure she wants to put HER political capital at risk. Actually I'm not sure any of them want to do it. I've been critical at the lack of Democratic confrontation of this administration by our congresspeople, but then we have to include the MEDIA IN this effort!

For me, while I'm still a Kerry supporter and find Edwards extremely compelling, it's not longer about whether he sits in the White House. It's about ELECTION FRAUD, and the fact that the Repukes KEEP getting away with it. Now we see JEB being put FRONT & CENTER and the thought of ONE MORE BUSH that I have to cow-tow too is FAR FAR too much to bear.

As a Floridian, I've had more than MY FILL of them and ALL their cronies and corrupt cohorts! We simply have to stop them, not matter what. I'm SICK of it!! Karma, Karma, Karma!

Mikulski's line was busy the first time and Sarbane's office sounded busy. Unfortunately both said that the senators had not commented but they did take my name and city so they know I'm a constituent.
