The rightwing media is pumping Hillary '08 hard already. |
|
Wonder why?
It's because she represents more of the same and would get blown out. She would win in coastal areas and get demolished in the middle of the country. We need a paradigm shift. We need to try and run a candidate that will be competitive in places where we normally are not. Byron Dorgan? Leonard Boswell? We need to somehow connect with farmers and unions again.

I cringe whenever I hear someone on TV say her name. She is a polarizing figure.

|
This is simply red meat for the wingnuts.
Unless of course, she LIKES stoking the fires, and her silence on this is beginning to make me wonder.
Also, Bill Clinton had an opportunity to knock this down last year in an interview I saw with him and he said basically "who knows"? My mouth fell open like "WTF????"
She is either really considering it (stupid) or is enjoying the show at our expense. This "Hillary" fixation puts the focus on us, when it should be on the malignancy in the White House!

She wants it, But I think she realizes that she can't realistically ACHIEVE it.
There is NO way that she will be the nominee, it would mean a sure win for whomever the Republicans chose--even if it was FALWELL!
If they're going to start looking to 2008 before we're even done with 2004--perhaps they should look right under their noses...
EDWARDS - He's the only choice to take it back but he needs to beef up on his foreign relations experience and stay active over the next 4 years.
Also--needs a strong VP to "fill in" for the weaknesses that the media pins him with.
My opinion... 2 choices for VP that would kick Republican butt!
Edwards-McCain or Edwards-Clark!

I've seen a lot of it on CNN and MSNBC and I know this is a real attempt to frame the issues and define the democratic party by the news media.....
When you see the republican talking heads mouthing this over-and-over-again, you know the stage is being set for the next elections.

5. I think Byron Dorgan could do it |
|
really, we need a return to populism, and Dorgan is a highly respected senator from a midwestern red state that just won re-election in a landslide.
I'd work my butt off for him.

Pat Buchanon made that statement last night. They are really pushing this RNC talking point.
She'd be perfectly acceptable, but the real reason is that they could convince the public that "middle America, home of "moral values" rejected her....it would provide cover to steal another election again.
Note to the DLC/DNC.....either you come up with a strategy and solution to make sure our votes for you count in 2006 or this old guy won't be bothered to play along with the charade anymore.

Bill Clinton had baggage out the wazzoo and won two terms, and Al Gore and John Kerry didn't have baggage to speak of, and where are they now? I'm not endorsing Hillary by any means, but it's because I don't think she could win in this current climate, not because she has "baggage."

|
fore, this means thee Republicans are not so sure of themselves and they are trying to shore up their base. They do not want their supporters to wake up and realize they made amistake. W has a lot bad siturations coming--Falluja. ON SS the working class and poor are going to learn exactly where and who the Republicans care about. They use the Media to keep Hilary out there because unfairly half the country hates her. Thanks to Republicans. Further the Republicans think using Hilary dimishes Dem. Party. No this is not fair. Since when has airness counted in this country.

12. you won't get farmers |
|
I live in rural kansas. The farmers, and there are many, vote republican every time. Good god! Our senators are Pat Roberts and Sam Brownback! It's horrible. The dems here don't want to run anyone against the repubs in office because they know they will lose. Often times they run for re-election uncontested or with some obscure dem/libertarian that doesn't campaign. I don't know why it is that way here. I don't know what the farmers think. But I don't think it is likely that they will change their minds

representing me. It's time for Barack Obama and/or Hillary Clinton. I realize the inbreds in the dumb states can't stomach the idea of a woman who can speak - they much prefer the Stepford wife with the fake smile - but I don't give a shit. My God, even Pakistan has had a female leader.
It's time to call people out for what they are and ridicule them accordingly. They certainly do it us.

B'rer Rabbit saying to B'rer Fox, "Please don't throw me into that briar patch."
I've just finished reading Blinded by the Right, and David Brock mentions that one of the things that drove him out of the Republican party was its over-the-top hatred of Hillary.

Hatred was a loser in '04. Who hated anyone more than we did Bush?
I support HC08 and I am NOT a troll.
We have fvcked up SO BADLY running these "electable" people and abandoning our ideals.
We used to be a party of ideals and integrity.
Now we would do ANYTHING to win.
