Kerry always had integrity and he is clearly playing a wise waiting game. I think that when the trickle of officials finally get off their duffs and call a Rose a Rose and summarize and document the proof of the election Fraud, JK and JE will come out from the shadows to announce their (sad) duty to take the Presidency (and VP) that has been "thrust upon them by the electorate."

I can almost hear his "more in sorrow than in anger" speech as he steps up to accept his rightful place as the duly elected President of The United States.

And I can FINALLY breathe freely, since I will AT LAST be able to breathe the air of a Free Country under its DULY AND FREELY ELECTED President.

Of course, on Jan 6 (and then Jan 20), I will be able to enjoy the agony of those Rightist/self-Righteous SOBs who have been so arrogant since the election they tried to steal.

In the end, the Truth will out!

everyone.I am writing my 1000th post at 200pm just after keenedy finished his 5 minute speech, I feel inspired by his words and think that he cares as much as us about democracy and that he will fight for it.

I believe we succeeded today and I can not believe how the boards are going wild. I am amazed at the people here at DU and I continue to be amazed at the things we were willing to try to accomplish even before we knew there was a flicker of hope.

Now Bush is disgraced and the whole world will watch us humiliate our selected president and try to mend our democracy.No ore bragging about mandates for that chimp.

you probably know that boxer was the only one to contest and a few dems supported her(but did not contest, like clinton and obama and a couple others, but then voted no at the end to contest( in the senate.)

Most of us are overjoyed at history being made and that this is the first time an election has been contested since 1877. I personally believe that Bush will be going down soon.

...that the election is over. I held out hope as long as I could. I appreciate the faith in and support of Senator Kerry in this thread, but I can no longer say I believe that he will be inaugurated on Jan. 20.

Congratulations on the perseverance you've all demonstrated, but apparently Senator Kerry's concession speech was the real deal.

I've enjoyed these threads, but it is now time to move on to dealing with a second term of W. I urge you all to shine as Americans, and try not to think about partisan politics, but rather think of what you can do to make America great, then go out and do it.

I've debated as to whether I should just slink away from this thread or to make my own little concession speech, and decided to go with the latter. Again, thanks for supporting the cause of the Democratic Party, and Senator Kerry's candidacy. Use that fervor and passion discovered during the recent campaign to make a difference- in your community and in your country.

I think Senator Kerry will continue to work behind the scenes to uncover any injustice that occurred on Election Day, and will also do his best to serve his constituents and the nation at large. In that sense, he still has our back.

I may keep tabs on things but doubt I will become too involved until new elections are imminent. This place has awakened me politically. I want to understand the positions of the Party so I can defend them, and want to be more personally involved in subsequent elections. I will continue to display my Kerry and Texas Democrat bumper stickers. My involvement on this board is not nearly as important as my involvement in future political campaigns. I will no doubt return from time to time when I get fed up with being a Blue voter in a Red state, but I need a break.

For the record, I have been doubtful all along that Kerry would literally be inaugurated on January 20, 2005, but I've felt that the message of this thread was more powerful than doubt. And I still believe that. I am still burning my candles.

Not in a fairy tale, but in a man, a man that I still believe in. Folks look at Kerry as if he let them down, not me. I think his being in Iraq the first week of the 109th's session is like flipping the **admin the bird. He's not sitting around begging for some seat on one of their token committees, he is carrying on in his quest for the truth about Iraq and the mess that the weed that would be king has got us in.

He will come back and give the weed hell! He won't make his life easy and he will fight for all of us.

I dance with the man that brung me, and I still happily (though only figuratively, sigh) dance with John F. Kerry.

I would like to thank you for believing and giving so many people a safe place to come and believe when there was so much going on out there. It was threads like yours and also the activists threads that kept me coming back day after day to seek positive thoughts and send out more emails to congress.

So If it wasn't for you I wonder if we would have had enough positive thinking to be able to do what we did yesterday.That was the first step to see that Bush gets impeached, I betcha he lost his mandate because of it.This has not happened since 1877 doohickie,we made real progress and I can attribute some of that to you for keeping some people here who might have slipped through the cracks.

190. You know, I learned a lot about concession speeches today

When I wrote my little piece, it was, at least in spirit, a concession speech. Even when a campaign is over, though, there is still work to be done. I hope that came across. I am not giving up on Kerry; I think he's a good man. I'm not giving up on the Democratic Party; it is the party of the people. I am not giving up on America; it is the greatest country on Earth. I believe there is an element of our populace that has forgotten what makes us great; I hope to remind them.

I will be around here from time to time, and will respond to personal messages. But really, I need a break. Maybe a week or two (maybe I'll come back after the inauguration; believe it or not, I still have the slimmest of hopes that Kerry will be there with bells on).

It is humbling for me that my idea caught on as a bit of a rallying cry. I'm glad I gave some people hope. Even if John Kerry does not take the Oath this month, I still have great hope for America. The concept of America is too big and durable to be compromised by small band of misguided politicians.

Perhaps Kerry won't be inaugurated this month, but I STILL BELIEVE in AMERICA.

I believe that the power of this thread was something unique that had widespread implications.

Even while we are willing to let go of a set date and time, in the glow of the Congressional challenge to the Ohio electors, an historic interruption of the election for two hours to talk about broken elections, and recognizing the vast distance that has been covered, I know this:

We still believe.

We believe that history will show that John Kerry received more votes in the election of 2004.

We believe that the forces of anti-democratic greed that made this travesty possible, along with the ones preceding it, have peaked in their power. Their crimes are coming to light. True democracy, America's greatest gift to itself and the world, will triumph.

So I'd like to see this tradition continue. We wouldn't even have to change the title.
